  1. This happens each year at the the end of season. Newspaper speculation involving most successful club's players and managers. The papers lead with articles about a noted player attracting attention from a more successful club or unrest, usually unfounded, from players.Different twists all aimed at selling papers or as click bait. There are hundreds of these reports involving all clubs up and down the country and at all levels. Most are made up drivel but it is in the nature of supporters to become worried when it concerns their own team.I would take most of these articles with a pinch of salt.
  2. My dad, your grandad Tom,used to tell me when I was young that I made a good rightback .......if I was right back in the changing room
  3. I can't comment about all season but he was awesome against Chesterfield
  4. Ha Ha ,so you remember him
  5. I think you might have been a bit annoyed if his miss had not had a winning outcome
  6. Are you still gadding about in your campervan? You'd be more like a Kevin Hector for me,even old enough to be a Steve Bloomer.
  7. About bloody time too!!! Welcome back, @Fan of Big Tone
  8. The media always try to create controversy and unfortunately there are always some who like to join in negatively. I'm pleased most Notts fans embrace RR's gesture the way he intends it
  9. Congratulations to all winners. From what I've seen on the telly this season the decision for the player categories has been harder this season than in many recent seasons .I think members have chosen wisely. I agree whole heartedly with choice for The Pride of Nottingham member of the year though there were many members who the accolade could have gone to for their contributions. There has been an increase in interest on PON this season resulting in a rise in contributors posting. In fact the post count must be getting back to what it was before Notts dropped into The National League. The reason for this increase isn't just down to the on field improvement of Notts but to to the quality of posts. @Piethagoram has consistently posted interesting Items and discussion starters and thoroughly deserves his award.Well done all.
  10. I'll continue with my way of searching, @Chris .I haven't seen many guess's from you yet so I don't think I'll be taking any advice from you any time soon.????lol
  11. There are a lot of players with connections to both Notts and Derby, so a good way of eliminating or confirming as a possibility. Anyway it gave me a chance to use the surprise button.lol
  12. Comfy chair in front of telly in my house !
  13. I hope Notts can put all the heartache of the last few years behind them and go on to enjoy a better future with the Reedtz brothers in The EFL.
  14. I had absolutely no idea and can't say I remember the name.
  15. Congratulations on winning The PON Prediction League22/23@ARLukomski Well done everyone who took part. I echo the sentiments regarding my missus @GrannyPie.I especially miss the laughs we had when she asked my advice and then completely ignored it.So thanks for continuing her memory @cheeky~k8 A big thank you to @DangerousSausage for organising The Prediction League and also for his humourous comments, the silly sausage. You'd all better watch out next season ,though, now that the EFL has lifted its embargo and relaxed its restrictions. Now for a break, well after Saturday anyway.
  16. I'll leave recruitment Paul Warne & co ,thank you very much @TheSkipper and hope they do better than the pre David Clowes owner.
  17. Apology accepted, you must make sure you are in peak condition for Saturday.Hopefully the game won't be as energy sapping for Notts supporters as Monday's was.
  18. This Derby County fan is supporting Notts,I haven't heard of any Rams even considering supporting Chesterfield.Anyway who cares,as you say,why whine about it if they do
  19. Sat at home watching I was thinking what a rotten way to end Notts season if they lost on penalties.Thank goodness for Jodi !Jones
  20. Yes, same here. There are a lot of opposition fans, not just Forest, who are really passionate about football and not just their own club. Unfortunately it's the idiot, abusive , windup pratts that stick in the memory.
  21. If it was left to me @Dry Nelson Ray I wouldn't even be included as a choice. Anyway I 'd have a drink with you anytime, even a little one.It doesn't have to be a pint ,a half would be fine. Just not gin!!!!
  22. I watched my lot v Owls on my laptop on sky. while simultaneously watching Notts on the telly. Our match ended but Notts still had about 30 minutes left due to different kick off times. Talk about roller coaster emotions.I am really chuffed for Notts and wish them luck against that other Derbyshire team.
  23. If that was a film script it would have been rejected as unbelievable!!
  24. I started work i I started work in late summer !963 at Simon,May & Co in the lace market in an office known as the Counting House. The chief clerk, who was my first immediate boss, was called Frank Powdrill . He was an avid Notts Fan. Over 30 years later, working in a dairy as the Storekeeper, I was on a tea break and someone had left an open copy of The Evening Post on a table. I noticed a photo and immediately recognised it as Mr. Powdrill. The reason for his photo was that he had just celebrated his 100th birthday and Notts County honoured him with a presentation to mark the occasion. I didn't get chance to read the article fully as I was called away and when I returned the paper had gone. There were a quite a few Notts fans at Simon ,May, who were generally older than the Florist fans and I remember one obnoxious Stags fan.He was really the first unpleasant fan I encountered. Up till then just friendly banter.
  25. A sad but interesting piece from a dark period of history. Thanks for sharing @Piethagoram
