  1. Could have been different if they had kept 11 on the pitch but we will never know and I’m not complaining. It was a definite penalty, but I’d like to see the replay as I did not see it as a deliberate handball. As for Wrexham, they were basically a look for set pieces and long throw into the box sort of side and reminded me a lot of a John Beck team (for those with long memories). They got lucky with the goal they scored and never really looked like getting another to be honest, apart from the pen, which was more of an error from Vincent than good play by them. I thought Richardson and Palmer were immense and the rest excellent, it’s bonkers watching Cameron’s ability with the ball at his feet as centre halves aren’t supposed to be able to do that!
  2. Unfortunate result, but if I had to pick, it would have been to get knocked out after 90 minutes than have to play extra time and penalties. Priority is the league and I wouldn't want those extra minutes to mean that we lose on Saturday.
  3. It was more of a reference to his ridiculous 6ft 9inch size than footballing ability and Wootton handled him brilliantly, he just bullied him to the point that he never looked like scoring.
  4. Great game to watch from our perspective and the result was never really in doubt once we went in front, even with Solihull bringing on a basketball player in the second half! I thought everyone played well, although it took a while for Palmer and Roberts to get into the game and Chicksen made a couple of positional errors. Our first goal was pretty special, brilliant through ball, great cross and excellent finish. Also good to see Mitchell get his first league goal which he took well.
  5. League two sides shouldn't hold any fear from us, in fact it looks as though there are probably at least half a dozen sides that would be comfortable in that league. Keep it tight at the back and nick a goal up the other end. Only downside of a good cup run from what I can see is that we would be putting our players in the shop window.
  6. Excellent win against my second team. Looking at comments made by home and away supporters, I think they could well end up being the team to beat in the league this year as they were missing several players. Our recent upturn in form has so much to do with the Rawlinson and Cameron (especially Cameron) partnership and just shows what we were missing against Woking Halifax and Altrincham. Frustrating as we could be top of the table if they hadn't got injured, or we had signed an experienced loanee to play alongside Lacey.
  7. @Super_Danny_AllsoppFor some reason Burchnall will only play Rawlinson when desperate as he doesn't fit in with his passing style, even though he is exactly the sort of defender needed. Lacey has shown that he needs that dominant force by the side of him as he cannot lead. DKE was all over the place looking at the goals and I have serious concerns over the goalkeeper's positioning and body language. He's not on his toes, he just stands there and does not look confident at all, we might as well have recalled Brookes. Brennan also is just not good enough for this league, OK on the ball but can't tackle, or head it effectively. Ship both the kids back and find some experience from a lower league club.
  8. Stayed off social media last night because I was that angry, I might have written something I would later regret, but I’m still fuming over 24 hours later. People can sugar coat this as much as they like , but there are two things that Football radar cannot measure (even if the stats of these players can make great reading), passion and bottle. Most of these players have neither, in fact only Cameron appears to have the aggression needed for this league. Add that into the fact that we must have the smallest side in the league and the total is that we are going nowhere. To capitulate from 2-0 up against 10 men is scandalous, especially after Saturday’s fiasco. If this happens again, the manager can pack his bags and he can dump the Football Radar idea in the bin on the way out.
  9. Must admit that I'm with @Elite_pie on this one. No player should be fatigued at this stage of the season when the pitches are in excellent condition and they are training full time. If anything, you would expect a semi-pro player to be more tired as the games go on because they aren't training full time and are at smaller clubs with fewer facilities. So against these players and teams we should expect Notts players to be fitter, even if the coach does not put such an importance on it. Fair enough if a player is carrying a knock as they will be struggling more, but anybody who is fully fit should not be fatigued in September.
  10. I think we'll probably start with a 5 again but feel that we look better with a flat back four and it will make us more effective for home games. Home game against average opposition, so it's imperative that we win really if we are going to be serious this season. Home draws will do us no favours at all.
  11. Thoroughly enjoyable second half once we reverted to a back four, put Roberts out wide and brought Mitchell on. I think Mitchell could be a very good signing, once he learns to make the right decisions. Roberts has to play wide for me, he seems a bit lost inside and is nowhere near as effective. Full credit to Aldershot as well for trying to win a game of football fairly. I thought Andrews took both of his goals well after totally scuffing a couple of chances earlier. No catering facilities at all in the Family stand this week, we had to go over to the main stand in order to get a drink before the game.
  12. Not sure about Nemane yet, he came on and ran round like a raggy doll to begin with and he clearly only uses his left foot for standing on. He has potential but is still very raw. As for the game generally, I thought Torquay worked hard from the start without looking that great, but we just seemed a little slow. We need to get the ball to Ruben & Cal more as we were just too crab like with our approach play. I counted at least six times when we could have taken a a shot from around 25 yards out but decided to go sideways rather than test the keeper (who had a very easy day). First half was pretty bad, but we did look better in the second half when we switched to a back four. At least we didn’t lose, but we also didn’t deserve to win the game. I can see us being a lot better on Monday though.
  13. As long as he doesn't play JOB, Doyle and Reeves together from the start we should be OK, but can see us giving away a sloppy goal. 2-1 Notts, but if Weymouth score first 1-1.
  14. Spineless and gutless. Need we say any more? No creativity in the midfield and definitely no defensive qualities either. They are a complete shambles and if nothing is done to organise this rabble soon it will be “Welcome to the newest National league club in the world”.
  15. Same here, totally forgot about the game until I picked up my phone at 9:30 and say that we were 4-2 up. Not interested in the slightest and think I only posted once on Twitter about it. Have no idea on the side except that Boldewijn and Dennis played because they scored.
  16. Is it down to the National I fear? Get in the bin Kewell, you know about as much as Fullerton.
  17. Is the right answer! For someone allegedly 6ft 3 (I have my doubts) he is unable to command his area and his judgement as to whether to stay or go is farcical at times. As long as he has no one challenging him he won’t be on his game. Big mistake not bringing another keeper in during the summer.
  18. We recruited badly in the summer, people were looking at Boldewijn, Dennis, Hemmings, Vaughan and were thinking that it would be easy this year (even the Peterborough chairman thought we would be up there), but we released: Collin - Not replaced O'Connor - Not replaced Shola - Not replaced Milsom - OK, he's back, but only just Forte - (goals not replaced) Alan Smith - Not replaced (maybe not on the pitch, but behind the scenes) The top three are the killers, Keeper, Midfield linchpin, and Target Man, pretty much the spine of the side. Without these, we were always going to struggle. There are six, or seven players that need to go in January, but can't see them willing to drop to non league, which is probably the only league that would want them. Looking at the side now, it is a bit damning that the only summer signings in the first XI are Boldewijn and Hemmings. Vaughan looks terrible and not suited to league 2, Dennis & Kellett have never looked fit, Thomas has looked OK in patches and the kids don't count. I don't think we will go down (famous last words), but I cannot currently see us finishing anywhere in the top half now.
  19. Doubt we can do that without paying a 5 grand fine. 7.3 Each EFL Club shall play its Full Available Strength in and during all Matches. Full Available Strength means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet. Which basically means four of the players that played on Saturday, or four out of the ten that have made most appearances so far.
  20. Neither do I mate, women’s football is really dire and almost comical.
  21. That is because you will see better football on your local park every Saturday.
  22. We're never going to have a plan B as long as Nolan continues this obsession of substituting a player for one in exactly the same position. The first player didn't work, so what on earth makes him think that another will, doing exactly the same thing is so maddening! Take a chance in games, we could have had a lot more points by being a bit more adventurous at times, especially against lower table opposition.
  23. Wow, he's maturing. I remember Jamie as a young boy when he and his father ran a disabled youth football side in Rainworth and he was a top lad and always willing to help. I'm glad he's finding a new career. I can also understand why we let him go though as he was tiny, but seem to remember that we did something similar with Darren Huckerby?
  24. It's a Saturday, it's Mansfield, guaranteed loss! Please Notts, for once, just beat them as I am fed up with this. I remember a time when we never lost to them and it was a guaranteed 3 points, now the boot is firmly on the other foot. I'm just hoping that Flitcroft is still clueless as to his best side and we can sneak a goal, but personally think a draw is the best we can hope for as their squad is better than ours.
  25. We did dominate the second half, but that was after the switch to 4-4-2, before that we were woeful. If we are to stay in the automatics I think we proved that: Shola has to start, Stead can't play up front on his own. He never had any support at all at times. Hewitt isn't a CH and has to be in midfield. Nobody was there to break down Exeter when they had the ball. Play Dicko as the Emergency CH until we sign one. Hunt was pretty shocking and we badly missed Tootle. New signings have to be drip fed into the side and not wholesale changes. Play 4-4-2 and stop trying to over complicate things. We got where we are by doing the basics well. We have to win tomorrow night and we also have to win most of the games up until we play Mansfield as we have a much tougher run in.
