  1. The investigations into Man City and Chelsea need to be moved on quickly and a verdict decided. Until that is done many fans won't have confidence that the playing field is fair.
  2. I agree VAR does have the potential to improve the game but where was it when Real Madrid played Almeria? Almeria was robbed plain and simple. Trouble with VAR everyone who views the footage sees something different. VAR in it's present form will never be foolproof.
  3. The pitch is ready for this evening's match.
  4. I'll start you off with one.
  5. This is the thread for some light relief & for having a laugh. If you have a joke to share, post it on this thread. If you have a clip of any of the stand up comedians, post it here.????
  6. Weather Summary for Saturday and Sunday. A bright day for England and Wales on Saturday, above average temperatures. Sunday will be rather cloudy with sunny spells.
  7. India are well in command of the 2st test after the conclusion of the 2nd day. India end the day on 421/7 in their first innings in reply to England's 246 all out. England will have to bat much better if they are to have any chance of saving this test.
  8. @Ohh Tommy Johnson @liampie @Chris I think it is significant that we never seem to get regular controversy with the Cricket and Rugby VAR decisions. In cricket it tends to initiate debate when a catch is taken with the hands touching the ground, but otherwise viewers agree with decisions made. In Football it comes down to multiple decisions made that initiate debate. VAR was supposed to solve or the problems about Refs making the wrong decisions, but it's implementation has only increased the lack of trust in the decision making.
  9. Nottingham RFC play the British Army tonight, kick of 7:45 pm, in a friendly at the bay. Here is their line up for the game.
  10. A 5th Straight Australian Open title for Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid in the Tennis Wheelchair Doubles, and 19th Grand Slam overall.
  11. Andy Lapthorne and David Wagner are Quad Doubles Australian Open Champions.
  12. A dry start & some Sunshine for many of us Friday morning.
  13. Neil Skupski & Desire Krawczyk finish runners up in Australian Open Mixed Doubles final.
  14. Stuart was explaining in his pre Barrow press conference that the players had been working on small changes to the shape and the way they play to reduce pressure on the defence when the opposition gain possession. So I expect small tweaks on Saturday.
  15. Stuart Maynard demonstrated to all in his press conference that the Reedtz brothers have made an excellent choice in appointing him Head Coach. All of the members of this community are in one voice by saying such positive things about what they've seen from Stuart so far & what he has been saying. He has a calm confidence about him, as well as knowing exactly what he needs to do to make improvements to the team. That came over clearly in the interview. I believe that there will be small changes to our style and shape to improve our defence, and we will see more caution going forward. We may not see the throwing of caution to the wind, or the ping pong style that we saw under Luke. More emphasis will be in not conceding so easily, however, I do believe that we will remain potent up front, and a threat to anyone we play, but we may not score as many goals. So long as we win 1:0 or 2:1, I'm sure Stuart will take that. Looking forward to Saturday with relish.
  16. Aidan McGivern from the MET office gives the weekend Weather forecast.
  17. I never want to see VAR implemented in the lower leagues unless it is goal line technology and ruling on yellow or red cards. For me VAR in it's present state is just not fit for purpose.
  18. Mild this evening, cloudy and becoming increasingly windy
  19. I agree. The team only needs to have small tweaks, and Stuart is already working on it in training, according to what he said in his pre Barrow presser.
  20. Latest Weather forecast Outbreaks of rain and drizzle for most of with brighter interludes at times
  21. A bad day for England at the office, India end on 119 for 1 in reply to England's 246 all out.
