  1. Brit watch summing up the day. Cameron Norrie won his 2nd round match to advance to the 3rd round, however, Katie Boulter, Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu lost their 2nd round matches today leaving Norrie the only Brit left in the Singles.
  2. A win for Henry Patten and his Partner in the Australian Open Men's Doubles.
  3. Cam Norrie comes from 2 sets down to reach the 3rd Round.
  4. Andy had a big hip problem at the end of 2016 and it got worse in 2017. He had two operations the last one being resurfacing of his hip. Normally this would have been career ending, but Andy proved them all wrong. His comeback has been fraught with setbacks but he managed to get back up to the middle forties in the rankings, but he is slower than at his peak and this has not helped him. I think he'll retire after Wimbledon this year.
  5. I don't think Jim is going to make any changes to the side that drew 5:5 with Grimsby unless he is forced to do so by injury. The side will probably line up in a similar formation & the style of play will not alter. Stockport do leak a few goals so I'm confident we can score a few, it's just how many we concede at the other end concerns me Personally, I believe that Notts should be more cautious this game, because Stockport is another level above Grimsby, but I'm sure that the Notts way of playing "total football" will continue. I'm hoping for a score draw here I think that will be a good result on Saturday, if the game goes ahead as there are freezing conditions around at the moment. I'm going for 2:2 result.
  6. Joe Salisbury and his partner up and running at the Australian Open.
  7. Very good read. I would abolish VAR except goal line technology & a check on whether a sending off is correct or not, because sending a person off changes the game. I agree about the renaming the league Back to Division 1 to 4. Parachute payments should be abolished too. Clubs should not be owned by Countries either There should be a Cap on total turnover with different levels for each of the four divisions, to even things up. Champions league to go back to the old format too. ie, Champions only.
  8. I remember the Cup run well. Really thought we would beat Wycombe but it wasn't to be, but we did come close and with a bit more luck we may have progressed further.
  9. Sorry @NottsCountyKev can't help you with that one
  10. Remembering this magical memory in 2014 when Panthers became Challenge Cup Champions.

  13. Premier League Profit & Sustainability regulations explained. What restrictions are there on clubs spending what they want? Premier League profit & sustainability regulations & UEFA profit & sustainability Rules explained with clubs wary of staying within limits in January; why Chelsea have been able to spend £1bn, Man Utd could see budget boosted & Arsenal may need outgoings to fund arrivals https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13041990/premier-league-financial-fair-play-rules-explained-what-restrictions-are-there-on-clubs-spending-what-they-want
  14. Seven years ago today Nottingham Panthers won the Continental Cup. The only British Ice hockey team to win it.
  15. Brit Watch Wheelchair Tennis.
  16. Notts may be in the fourth tier but this FFP rule has consequences for ambitious clubs like ourselves. The FFP benefits the six biggest clubs and in effect stops them from being challenged by the rest of the clubs in the football pyramid. I think it is absolutely an unfair system and should be abolished in favour of a simple capping system set for each league to ensure there is fair competition. The rich clubs won't like it because all their riches won't matter if they are capped to the same amount as the other PL clubs. There just has to be a fairer system to benefit all clubs. Even the parachute payments to relegated PL teams is unfair to Championship Clubs. Just look at the Championship table. It stares you in the face.
  17. Panthers 2nd match of a double header in Belfast ends in defeat.
