Panthers narrowly lose to Belfast Giants in Belfast tonight.

For those who would like to know more about the Nottingham Panthers and their history I will post an article about them that can be found on Wiki. The Nottingham Panthers were formed at the end of WW2 in 1946 Their first franchise was between 1946 & 1960, they then went out of business for 20 years, however a new franchise began in 1980 to the present day. The Panthers have been one of the best if not the best, supported Ice Hockey clubs in history. The Panthers are also one of the most successful clubs with plenty of silverware, they have won 4 league titles, & are the only British team to win the European, Continental Cup. If anyone would like to know more about Nottingham RFC there is an article on Wiki with plenty of information. The Club was founded in 1877 and the Clubs heyday was in the late 1980s when they boasted several international players in their ranks, most notably Gary Rees, Dusty Hate, Rob Andrew & Brian Moore, who as well as playing for England, became a British lion. Nottingham used to get televised regularly on "Rugby Special at that time, being a top club. The advent of professionalism affected Nottingham for a few years, but they have bounced back since then & have become a solid 2nd tier club. Nottingham RFC recently had their ground flooded and damaged during the recent adverse weather. The club have had to postpone their home matches at 'the bay' due to the flooding.

A great start to the year just as he ended 2023, Draper will face Czech Jiri Lehecka in his second successive ATP final, having ended 2023 as runner-up to Adrian Mannarino at the Sofia Open. Joe Salisbury & his partner Rajeev Ram reach the Adelaide Doubles final with a fine win.

It's only to be expected that the team has been hugely effected by the tragic circumstances regarding the death of Adam Johnson & colleague during a match. They've actually been very unlucky to lose a few matches by the odd goal & also they've had to play so many matches to play catch up

Great News for Panthers Ice Hockey Fans. Panthers off the bottom of the Elite League with a win on their travels after a record run of defeats.

The season begins again with a New coach interim Head Coach in place & waiting for a Permanent Head Coach to be selected. We reset the results and start again. Twenty two games left. Everything to play for.

It is reported Luke will be sitting on their bench this evening.

Sad that Notts didn't do more to keep him on loan an extra year. I think we wouldn't have conceded as many goals as we have done to date if he had been here. But that is water under the bridge. I wish him well at Morecambe. Hope that we can sort out the goalkeeping problem soon.

I think it would be difficult to rule out Ronnie Radford's goal for non league Hereford v Newcastle in February 1972, when Radford helped Hereford beat First Division Newcastle in a Third Round Replay. Just look at the state of the pitch.

In reply to your post @menzinho I agree with the problem dealing with the counter attacking threat. We saw when we played Wrexham away in the NL we were under threat on the Counter attack by a good side. Now we have many good sides in League 2 & we are under threat every week but it seems nothing has been done to counter that threat. We need a plan B.

As I write this we've lost to Tranmere by a similar pattern. I agree that teams have figured us out. Luke Williams has done wonders for us since he became Head Coach, but he is stubborn, continuing with the same tactics that aren't working especially away from home. I agree he has no plan B.

I agree with your first point @Fozzy but I believe, while we are going through this bad patch, we have to tone the attacking intent down and be more defensive away from home. By all means go for it at home, but for me, not considering going to a plan B away from home is only helping the opposition, because they have worked us out and every team has the same plan against us now. One of the Tranmere players talked about their plan in his post match interview.

Gary scored 21 goals in 62 appearances over two seasons for Notts. Remembered him well and he was a firm fan favourite.

Another great article by Joe Jones. I love reading about Notts County's history. Bishop was a good servant to Notts and he played a big part in our promotion year.

I agree @Morten Johansen Mark Stallard on match day has mentioned possibly changing the system for away matches. I'm sure we are capable of being more defensive minded and hitting on the break.

As much as we are brilliant in attack we are woeful in defence. If our defence had been anywhere decent we would be running away with this league. Our defence is just not good enough at this level and it has been apparent for a long time. I love what Luke has done for us in 2023, but there needs to be movement in the transfer window for two defenders asap, otherwise if this continues we won't make the playoffs. Very disappointed with the performance today.
