Jack Grealish . Season Long Loan At Everton.
i would have thought one of the top six teams would have thought about trying to make it a loan to buy move, he could do well with somewhere like spurs or chelsea. though i do agree with @Chris, that a return to aston villa would be magical. maybe when his contract runs out? i dont know how long is left on his city deal. imagine moving for 100 mil and then resigning to your former team on a free, that would be the ultimate way to stick it to pep. plus the experience gained whilst away could further help villa with their ambitions. though its a big signing for everton and i just hope they look after him, because he has the magic to produce goods for any team.

Game 3: Match Discussion: The Bluebirds (A)
yeah, it would be nice to pick some points up against barrow. they have adapted well to life in league two and do know how to shut down teams. at the same time they can go to the other end and score goals, so it could be a really tricky game for us. i am hoping we take a look at the squad and see who is 100% match fit, and choose to start them. we can use the subs to impact quality into the team, i am sure we can be good enough to select a more fitter based team that can give their all without it making us weaker.

Didzy Watch
it does not matter at this stage, but those who say the club should have stumped up what he wanted. didzy should not have said he wanted to retire here, that he did not want to be the clubs highest earner. i am sure the club offered him what they felt they could afford. personally, i think he did not have faith in us getting promotion this season and that could be part of why he moved on. i am glad hes doing well for barnsley.

Who's your Man of the Match v Wigan?
sorry, @Robbie. i could not make the game due to work and i did not listen to it either. that is why i have not voted. 😥

Changes to NewPie group: Among other things...
i hope people do read this, even if they find it overwhelming. its full of useful things to know, but it does take a lot to digest. i have read the opening post twice, so i do get that we can now choose our own preferred style. before the upgrade, there used to be a toggle settings for the community forum page that would change the layout. but having more options within the topics and how they are listed is very nice.

EFL Cup 1st Round: Match Discussion: The Latics (A)
i would let harry griffiths go in goal and i would rest some like barry cotter, maybe jodi too. see what some of the loan players can offer and hope that they can put together a good performance. all the new arrivals to midfield has us a bit disjointed and i know fans are expecting us to be thrashed but you never know. i dont expect us to do particularly well but we have to try. i know some might feel deflated after yesterday, but we just keep going.

great pictures @Chris, well done. 👏🏻

Sam Austin Watch.
i hate the low angels where it makes viewing what is happening hard, notts used to be like this but they improved but this is hard to watch. good rebound strike from sam austin.

Reasons for Optimism
newport would have disappointed the lads, going into the salford game they would have wanted to put that right but it did not work out. we need to make sure the communication levels are higher and during training we need to get the players used to each other. it was not the worst game, but the goals that conceded add to the frustration. i know when we can control games, we will be able to dominate and create chances. we just need to work on the formation a little, make sure the midfield are picking up the ball and that in front of them everyone is making movement. i think we will have a bit more doom and gloom due to wigan but things should pick up.

Footballing principles sacrificed?
i dont think so, the comments about the opening games shows that teams have to play well together and the issue with salfrod was the lack of us attacking. i think martin paterson will be fine, but he needs to get players wanting to restart play much quicker. we need that energy that at any moment we are good enough to score.

Notts County 1-2 Salford City: Magpies Fall Short in First Home Game of the Season
salford played well as a team and i think we will be fine once the signing adjust and get more focused on the performance. midfield did struggle to get grips of the game and even though we should have defended the first goal. no one marked the open header, which is disappointing and roos with his poor pass. the defence led to that mistake and we need to focus more on passing the ball and move with it especially against physical teams like salford. they deserved the win all day.

Who's your Man of the Match v Salford?
i thought jodi was the brightest spark in both halfs, but bennetts was my close second. to many tried but had an off day, we need the individuals to shine.

Game 2: Match Discussion, The Ammies (H)
i dont think we ever got going properly, good spells very early on but we played into the mistakes and for their first goal nobody paid attention for their header. we should not make it that easy, roos disappointed but the booing at him was a joke. the subs made a difference but it was not good enough. referee had no control of the game, Salford are masters of the dark arts. we should have done better but its still early days.

Martin Paterson Ready for First Competitive Home Game as Notts County Host Salford City
i like that we train more if we did not win and i like the message martin paterson sends with it. he seems to be winning more fans over and all we need to do is to start picking up those vital points. paterson wants to be judged on results, but i think the performances we have seen so far are encouraging.

Where are they now : George Abbott
good luck to geroge abbott whilst on loan to wycombe, i hope he does well enough to go back to spurs and get more time there.

Jodi Jones Targets Goals and Promotion as Notts County Prepare for Salford City Test
jodi is an incredible talent and i still feel we are lucky to have in our squad, the change in position will be best for him and the club. it does not mean he cant switch to either side, as he said he has that freedom but it gives us somewhere he can be a real menace to the opposition instead of being deeper and needing to come forward.

Weekly Chat - Monday 4th to Sunday 10th August
most days seem to fly by but to day, its just seemed slow and it was one of those days where things were non stop at work. i love my job, i put all of my effort into being the best that i can but i came home today feeling drained. i dont normally feel tired at all after leaving, i can be quite hyper and wanting to do the next thing. i hope mrs r is okay, i hope it gets fixed and that she has no pain. reminds me of my own mum, she had certain meals set for every day and it was like clockwork. you never had to think about what you wanted. cheese, onion and potato pie. cottage pie, cheese and beans. all sorts of warm home cooked meals.

Where are they now : Archie Mair
i did not mind him but i always felt there was better, re-signing him would make me feel similar. i felt nervous with the ball at his feet more than i did with sam slocombe. i would hope we can bring in a keeper who is 22-25 with actual experience and just needs the time to step up.

Russian clubs still being allocated funds from UEFA
i am baffled and disappointed by this, i dont see the need for the offer because russia got themselves into this mess.

MAGnet Links - Salford
i honestly cant think of anyone at this point, i think because salford are relatively new club the amount will be few. hats off to anyone who can name a player or staff member from here.

Game 2: Match Discussion, The Ammies (H)
there is always a sense of nerves for me going into home games but the confidence from our defence is what gives me more hope, i am not 100% sure about kelle roos. i am sure hes a fine keeper but i think i would be a lot more comfortable if we knew what to expect more clearly. he needs to put on a strong performance at home, and hopefully we have songs for the new signings. the match day experience is great at notts. i just hope the performance on the pitch matches it but we are only just beginning the season.

Roberto Gagliardi interview
i think the timing of the interview is quite good, with the focus on the weekend coming to make meadow lane a fortress and explaining the thought process behind the signings. i am not one of them to lose hope based on signings, it takes more to chip at my positivity and i think i am quite patient. i do think a lot of notts fans need to be more mindful about how they quite easily go into meltdowns.

Weekly Chat - Monday 4th to Sunday 10th August
routine day for me at work also, just busy and bit back logged due to the previous weeks incident.
