  1. i think we can all see it when they have played, hope that we can start to silence the doubters and improve with stronger performances. this is a funny tweet tho. ????
  2. england does need to show signs of improvements come tuesday, whatever excuses are being used. focus on doing better is a must, i think its pressure and confidence, but the only way to combat that is to try to play better football. leading into the tournament england looked just fine, so i dont see why being tired is a reasonable excuse.
  3. i still dont see him being suited to wales, that is nothing against his management style but if he is to return to management. he needs to find a league team that he can build and stick around with. did he takeover mark hughes at blackburn? if i am right he did okay with them but he has never come close to repeating his success at bolton.
  4. i think its a desperate move on part of wales, they have some very good players but as a squad they are weaker than scotland. they would do better if they hired someone who knows the welsh game, someone like mark hughes or tony pullis. i think most would identify gareth southgate as being the better coach, he falls short in the manager department but as a coach he is clearly wise beyond his years. big sam in more into strong management, being organised and building a team that is together in spirit. a lot less on the coaching, but he has the better record in the game. it does not necessarily mean hes better all round. gutter press yes, but he knew what he was doing and what he did was morally wrong. you dont get caught doing something like this and not hurt your reputation. the fact he knew how to bend things and that he was advising ways around it, its very dubious. hes lucky that hes smart enough to know how legally speak about the methods without incriminating himself properly. because he only spoke about 'ways' around breaking the laws, the fact he was advising someone and knew how suggests that he breached the trust of his then position, tried to advice on unfair advantages and derogatory comments towards others in football. morally and ethically, he did wrong. if a person was to talk about ways of how you could get away with murder, just as advice, how would you possibly trust them?
  5. there are better teams in the national league they could sponsor, maybe even league one/two.
  6. i hope he settles down for hereford because his wiki seems to be full of moves, which is something i dont think helps players. hes now old enough to do well given the time and if he settles. he should do just fine, if he wants to play higher he needs to work for it.
  7. good luck to him, the national league south is a difficult league to escape from but that applies for the north and main division. i just hope he enjoys his time there and does well. i always thought he was okay at notts, nothing amazing but reliable enough.
  8. yes, we need to to try to secure a playoff place. i am still disappointed to see fans moaning and saying negative things at every opportunity about stuart maynard. support the club and players if you dont like the manager, but dont bring the whole club down just to try to prove your point. the squad is shaping nicely and it gives maynard a better chance to get a defence playing how we would want it too. we have been poor defensively for years, so cut the guy some slack and hope he can. what is the worst that can be gained from getting behind the club? nothing, so they should do it.
  9. good experienced coach, i was not aware keith downing had played for us until i read one of the tweets from pon about him. he seems to have had a wealth of experience, it makes me wonder why he has not tried to manage a team.
  10. i barely remember him, but he was one of those signings that never looked ready to be a part of a first team sqaud imo. i am not surprised he fell so far.
  11. what ever happened to the young lad that our academy released due to being to small, who then went on the be a jockey? this is a great thing, i am not familar with hayley turner but seeing her wear the notts training gear is really great to see. its like notts is a bit more trendy to support these days. we should always be proud.
  12. seems a bit weird but good luck to barrow.
  13. paul gascoigne - gazza kevin pilkington - pilks dean leacock - deano
  14. the more you read and watch about him, the more it makes you appreciate his ability and how it seems to be the perfect fit for us. we just have to get the best out of players and with the squad we are building, i hope we can give him the game time needed to shine. i am sure he will, but its much like how we need to give adam chicksen the chance to repeat his promotion season form with us.
  15. t this is spot on, it was one of those games where both teams knew they would score but it was a matter of who would out score the other. i thought it would be a draw at one point but colchester pushed for the win. defensively both teams were a real nightmare.
  16. i dont think there is much difference between him and archie mair, both keepers never seemed comfortable enough.
  17. he starts off the bat blaming gareth southgate, if this was a narrow win against germany it would be celebrated as a genius decision. no tactics were changed after england scored, it forced serbia to come out. the goal came at a point where england should have got a second, but because they was not creative enough going forward it invited serbia to be braver. i would agree that we should be in a good position to win the euros but the squad needs to be braver.
  18. i just wanted to wish @Fan of Big Tone a happy birthday, its really good to be celebrating your day with you. i hope you have a good one.
  19. @Wheelbarrow repair man the only concern i have is losing talented english youngsters to teams like germany. we have more going overseas which brings something different to the team and plenty of very good players coming through premier league teams. championship and league one wise, clubs are looking to by english talent. teams like liverpool though do overlook them and allow their own good prospects to go which is disappointing. it just gives another team the chance to pick them up, we are producing some of the very best players but internationally we are not always the best.
  20. not good enough by scotland, a decent game but they should have asked more questions and tried to be more direct. their fans are very good, their team is not that good. the draw was very lucky, they have two own goals to their name and otherwise nothing.
  21. yes, @Fan of Big Tone the media team have really done well with teasing the signings. i was surprised how quickly fans guessed the right player based on the photo. its a great signing, defensively good and is useful going forward. he makes an excellent addition to the squad, i like how he speaks and that hes quick to get fans behind him. those things will help with him settling into a new club.
  22. i hope the manager was a forest fans, as that time old question of how many forest fans does it take to change a light bulb would be valid. ????
  23. i hope not! @Piethagoram i have updated the list with the two new additions and removed luther, i thought he was still with us but oh well. still we have five great options in attack. we could potentially sign another winger. then otherwise i think a midfielder would do.
  24. no, i think its only a good thing that the best players are attracted to playing in england. good home-grown players will thrive on this but clubs need to continue to give them a chance. there was a point where a lot of premier league teams did not have many breakthrough stars that were english but this has really turned around. we have plenty coming through and whilst we are doing well on the world stages, this will naturally help more talent to come through.
  25. so pleased with how we are adding defensive strength with the addition of a competitive wing back. this is another excellent addition to the squad, notts are building the excitement very nicely.
