Have you ever wondered why you see some players with holes in the backs of their socks? I thought it was the work of moths but here is the reason. https://metro.co.uk/2024/06/16/why-football-players-holes-socks-euro-2024-21044775/amp/

  6. Latest from the England Camp. UEFA are looking at a gesture made by Jude Bellingham. Apparently he Grabbed his Crutch in Front of the Slovakia Bench after his Late equalizer in the England vs Slovakia Game. According to him it was an inside Joke aimed at some friends who were in the Crowd. However this isn't the First time he's made the Gesture and if found Guilty he could end up being Fined and Banned. For Pity's sake Grow Up Bellingham, You're supposed to be a Role Model for young Kids. Not only have You Let Yourself Down England Down, But Those Who Look Up To You. Hang Your Head In Shame.

  7. I ponder whether footballers who earn millions regard themselves as fortunate. Regrettably, Tommy Lawton was born too early to receive the earnings he merited. Despite this, he was an exceptional player. In his twilight years, he should have been treated like royalty. If he were still with us today, things might have been vastly different. It’s a thought that makes one reflect on the changing times in football. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-35360384

I thought I'd write this Topic before it became Out of Date, due to England being Knocked out of the Euro's. But the badge on the ENGLAND Shirt is Wrong. Now before People start saying you're Barmy or Go and put your Tin foil Hat On, Let Me Explain. I'm a Bit of an History Buff and one of my Main Interests is Heraldry, and being an Artist (who has Sold Art, but It wasn't my full time Job) the Designs that have been Drawn and Painted over the Centuries has been an Interesting Hobby of Mine. Now I'm Not Going To Bore You To Tears by giving you along Drawn out History of Heraldry. Just to say that Heraldry was used for the Identification of Knights in Battle and wh…

  12. Do you Remember the Famous Piano Sketch with Morecombe & Wise and Andre Previn? Where Eric Grabbed Andre by the Collar of his Jacket and said this Famous Line. I'm Playing All The Right Notes, But Not Necessarily In The Right Order. Well Today my Eldest Son showed me a Photo, which is on X (I think) In which Gareth Southgate has Replaced Eric and Line Reads I'm Playing All The Right Players, But Not Necessarily In The Right Positions. I really am hoping one of my Fellow PON Members can find it and Post it on Here. I can't I'm afraid I'm Not On X.

  13. Parachute payments were introduced by the Premier League in the 2006/07 season as a method of limiting the financial damage a relegated team may endure when dropping down to the Championship. Parachute payments also exist for teams that have been relegated from the Championship, League 1 & League 2 as well. Unfortunately, parachute payments gives relegated clubs an unfair financial advantage over all those other clubs in those respective leagues where those relegated Clubs find themselves. The evidence is there for all to see where we are now in the age of the yo yo club that gets relegated, then gets promoted again. Parachute payments have clearly…
