  1. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, web site and community @Sir Magpie.
  2. Welcome to the PON site @NorthPie.
  3. I think form is the main thing for us right now. If we are enjoying our football and doing well, I believe the mistakes and defensive errors would become few and far between. I am not expecting Notts to win every game; I just want to see them make it harder for teams to score. I wasn’t disappointed that Doncaster Rovers scored because we performed well up to that point.
  4. I would like another quicker natural centre-back to come in. I know we have options, but I think it would be a significant improvement. Whether or not I think it’s likely to happen is a different thing. I think Luke Williams may ask the board to hold off.
  5. I think we need to continue so that it flourishes. There is a lot of hype around the club, and it’s good for Notts. We are looking good, always growing, and the fans are a big part of that. I hope it continues!
  6. I haven’t listened to any commentary so far, but I am enjoying the mix of interviews. I think the press conferences could be better, but the post-match ones make me feel like we are a much more important team than League Two tends to be. The questions are very good and more to the point.
  7. Great news for Jodi! He may consider himself lucky to have the goal awarded to him, but as he said in his interview, it had better have been his goal. Thankfully, it was.
  8. The forward line, John's outstanding free kick and Sam Austin's brilliant crosses - what a power-packed game! Fantastic work, team.
  9. Great stuff, @ARLukomski! Really captured the essence of the match in this vlog!
  10. A well-deserved victory for Notts County! One could clearly see the tactical prowess of the team. Looking forward to what they can do against Tranmere Rovers. Excellent thoughts on the game, very fair and interesting.
  11. A fitting victory for Notts! Williams' tactics and the team's dedication were a winning combo.
  12. I understand, I understand, fans often emphasise the impact of an early goal, and in our case, scoring one against Doncaster could have a significant effect. It would grant Notts the advantage and relieve them of the need to constantly create opportunities, allowing them to focus on executing quality football. Such an early goal would place Notts in a proactive position and facilitate their integration into the flow of the match. My confidence in our defensive capabilities remains steady; I anticipate Doncaster will provide opportunities for us to play, aiming to exploit areas where we struggle to maintain possession. However, we must assert ourselves to force Doncaster into granting us playing space. By pressing them to retreat, we can create expanses of open field.
  13. We've successfully ensured Macaulay Langstaff's commitment for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, we've taken measures to safeguard against any unwarranted offers, allowing us to develop alongside his talents. He simply requires a goal to ignite his striker's instincts this season. Once that happens, he'll be in fine form. I'm genuinely delighted that he's committed to a new agreement.
  14. Is he still in employment then? He certainly articulates his ideas effectively and is undoubtedly a skilled coach, but his press interviews are tremendously dull.
  15. Bostock is not just a fantastic player, but also a leader who rightly focuses on how the journey shapes the outcome. The faith and perseverance amidst struggles define the spirit of this club. With such ethos, victory can't be far.
  16. A victory at the Eco-Power Stadium is long overdue! Time to turn the tide, Notts. Cheers to an entertaining match!
  17. Got to appreciate Luke's dedication and clarity. Come on Notts, let's give him the game he's prepped us for.
  18. It was a rather unique game in my view. It's not common to witness a team with so much possession struggle to score. It's a bit of a puzzling situation. On one hand, it's impressive to control the game, but on the other, it's a bit frustrating to see that dominance not result in goals. However, let's not dwell on the negatives! Keeping a clean sheet in an away game is fantastic. I think our players could benefit from more top-notch coaching on breaking down compact defences. Games like these help the management pinpoint areas for improvement. I'm excited for a more assertive approach in our next match.
  19. Welcome Roy! I assume you are a Roy, @MagpieRoy. Hello from me, to you.
  20. Bit of a frustrating match, but clean sheets are always a positive takeaway. Good to see minor tweaks in the line-up, too.
  21. RIP Trevor Francis, he brought some good times to Nottingham. Before my time, but I have heard the stories of what he did for those across the river. It's very sad.
  22. I watch the BBC news tribute to her, I thought it was very saddening to see such a brave person battle with depression and bi-polar. RIP Sinead O'Connor
  23. Welcome to PON, good to see you have joined the site. @Steveyward
  24. Welcome to PON, it's good to see so many new members. Hello to each of you.
  25. Fantastic news! Tipton sounds like a promising young talent. Here's hoping for a stellar season ahead!
