Notts County Gears Up for the New Season with Strong Additions
CliftonMagpie commented on TheSkipper's blog entry in Black and White Memories: Nostalgia for Notts County Fans with TheSkipperWe have a lot to be optimistic about. The first game against Sutton will hopefully show us a bit more. The depth is a good thing, and Luke Williams has a clear plan for how he wants his team to play. I think he knows what his starting 11 would be, even if he’s not publicly saying so. I also believe that we may try to start the season without signing any more players.

Where are they now? - Callum McGregor
Callum McGregor is a great player, when he retires he should be amongst their legends. He's helped them in Europe and even assisted the Scottish national team with their improvements on the field. He was great for Notts!

Notts v York City ( Subsequent Red card offence recorded against York City player) 3 match ban
Hahaha!! Shame on York City, some of their fans are having a right meltdown about this. It's a good thing it's not some of our lot for a change but if it's deemed violent conduct, action needed to be taken. A 3 match ban is deserved for anyone who thinks being a thug pays off.

Guess who’s just lit the BBQ?
It's just playful teasing, @Fan of Big Tone. We are just getting more out of you, its good you enjoy having a BBQ. We know you wouldn't burn the food or under done, we know you know when it's Notts done.

Sochaux head for bankruptcy
Sochaux? I’m not sure I’ve heard of them before, but like Southend, I hope they survive.

Southend Utd survive High Court hearing
Southend needs a lifeline; it’s terrible what they’re experiencing, but we’ve been there. I hope they manage to sort it out in time.

Match Discussion: PSF - Forest (H)
Luke Williams should proceed with his plans and ignore the moaning fans. I think dropping the youngsters at this point would be harmful. A strong defence would be a good call, but the more I think about it, you would hope the players react to the minority of so-called fans who threw their toys out of the pram. I think Forest will allow us to play much more than Stoke City did; they came and acted like it was a cup match. Fair play, but I would be surprised if they didn’t.

The Impact of Streaming on Film Nostalgia
I don’t feel the urge to watch films; I tend to see something and wait to watch it. I don’t stream or watch much TV, but I do watch more YouTube - that’s just my generation. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a VHS tape in person. ????

Russell Hoult yet again. ????

Neil Warnock
This is one of the funniest football stories I have heard: a manager who settled his bill by giving a lad 20 minutes in a friendly. Haha!

my facebook account has been hacked
I also deleted and notified people for you, mate. I’m sorry you lost your account, but at least nothing else happened other than losing the account. Nobody has been targeted, etc.

Trophy: Grab a photo!
I believe it's free, with there being no mentioning of a charge. It would be poor on behalf of the club to spring a fee on people, though a donation wouldn't be as bad.

Luke Williams : Notts v Stoke City
I don’t think it’s something we need to worry too much about. Luke Williams and the coaching team will spend time watching the footage. We might finally start to improve from the aerial threat and our own mistakes, which would go a long way. I doubt any League Two team will be able to play like Stoke City did, and in the season we will be at full strength. I don’t know why anyone would worry. If we beat Forest, fans will soon start saying we’re going to win the league. I trust Williams and the coaching team, and the players also deserve to be supported, which is what I will do.

Where are they now : Marc Bola
If he does well, there’s a slim chance he may get noticed by England. More likely, he may declare himself available for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Good luck to him. I would have stuck it out in England, but I wish him all the best with his career.

Football fanatic dog
That’s a very smart dog. It was great to see its reaction to the goal. Having a dog like this would make watching games from home a bit more special and fun.

Threads
I’m considering it. I can’t say that I’m particularly bothered, but it’s nice to stay connected. I’ll see how things go and then decide, but I don’t really like Twitter all that much. It’s not because of the users, but more the site and app.

Guess who’s just lit the BBQ?
What was on the menu, @Fan of Big Tone, and what is Mrs. Tone’s go-to beverage for a nice BBQ?

Twitter threatens legal action over Threads app
Elon Musk will just threaten Mark Zuckerberg. This could drag on for years, and they both just need to do their own thing in the meantime. I can’t see it being settled quickly.

Trophy: Grab a photo!
I'm not particularly interested in this; it's just not my cup of tea. However, it's a nice idea. I hope to see the trophy at some point, but I'm not concerned about having a photo with it. I can see it being quite popular though.

Jon Stead joins Barnsley coaching staff
Well done to Jon Stead for being appointed as a coach. It should provide him with some good experience, and I think it should work out well.
-
Where are they now? Shaun Derry
Shaun Derry comes and goes from Crystal Palace as if it were a hotel to him. I don’t blame him for what happened before. He is a coach who is respected by people aside from Patrick Vieira, and he is a good fit for their club.

Archie Mair joins Gateshead
This is a great move for Archie Mair. I agree with others that he is still a few years away from playing regular football within a Football League team. It would be difficult for him to just step up, but this will allow him to bide his time and learn with a decent team. This experience will be valuable for him.

A Plea for Support from an Elderly Notts Fan
There were some young fans near me, a group of about 7. They were all shouting at Aidan Stone, thinking it was funny to ask where his hands were and shouting that he wasn’t very good. It was very immature behaviour, but you get 16-year-olds like this in a group. I heard more encouragement than anything else, but the KOP was very silent. I don’t think there’s any need to be rude towards the players, especially the younger ones. They will beat themselves up over the slightest thing, so why be cruel or unkind?
