Return of the seven.
You bring up a very important point @Fozzy regarding the return to fitness of players coming back. It will have to be carefully managed by Maynard to ensure those players don't break down again. We may not see Six of them return at once. We've already seen Robertson on the subs bench for his return & he wasn't even used. Recruiting new players in January looks like it's going to take on even more of a significance now, to ensure that Notts remain competitive.

Meanwhile in League 2 final score from the only match in league 2 tonight. Fleetwood 2 Doncaster 4. So the updated league table looks like this- Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Saddlers (A)
By the way @saddlesore, are you a season ticket holder at Walsall & do you travel to away matches too? It's nice to see another Club's supporter on PON. It's says on your account your a newbie. I wouldn't call you a newbie seeing you've been on here 9 years. Lots of water under the bridge since then. I think you need an up to date badge.- Who is your Man of the match v Walsall?
I've extended the poll to 9pm on Thursday to allow PON members time to vote- Return of the seven.
@menzinho I see what you are saying. I just think we have to acknowledge that players like Crowley & Jones are top league one or championship level players & them being absent reduces the effectiveness of the team. Jodi had two players, sometimes three, marking him when he was going forward, this left room for Crowley to do what he does best. I think we have missed the energy of Edwards, & Grant made a difference with both Crowley & Jones in the side. The players you've mentioned are reasonable players. I think Tsaroulla & Gordon have missed Jones and Crowley in the team too. Not only them, Jatta has found it more difficult to find space without the better players being present. Players being absent have had a knock on effect all around the team, but I think the team has done as well as they could despite some of the players having limitations.- Weather Warnings

An excellent Blog/ Article by @allardyces tash. Well worth a read.- Lincoln United v Notts County Women.
@liampie Lincoln United Women amalgamated with non league side Lincoln United in 2020.. Lincoln City Women, rebranded in 2019 & formerly known as "Nettleham" is affiliated to league one side Lincoln City. Notts beat Lincoln City 4:0 on the 10th November.- Keep Calm and Count the Injuries: Staying Level-Headed with the Pies
Robbie commented on allardyces tash's blog entry in Tune in Next Week: The Ongoing Drama of Notts CountyNice article. @allardyces tash. The Club has made great progress since last season. Could you imagine how the team would have finished if six first team players in midfield and upfront would have become injured for an extended period? It would have been a bit of a disaster to put it mildly. This season the squad is much stronger, and the players that have come in and replaced the injured have done a sterling job to keep Notts in the top six, & just a few points off second place. The reason for that is abundantly clear to me. Notts have a very good Head Coach & his staff have done wonders with the team, so that the remaining players available have been moulded into an effective unit to keep Notts in touch with the top while the injured players recover. There will always be a small number of noisy fans that will never be satisfied no matter how well the team are doing. Some would moan if Notts were ten points clear at the top. The sensible fan will know different. I'm confident that once the seven injured players return, we will see the Notts we saw at the beginning of the season, with a big difference. Those fringe players have tasted first team action and won't want to relinquish their place lightly. The players returning will know that there is going to be plenty of competition for places. That fact on its own will benefit Notts in the new year.- Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Saddlers (A)
@saddlesore Your team took their chances well. Your first goal was a little fortuitous, but the other two goals were well taken Your team had a plan and stuck to it well. Good luck for the rest of the season- Lincoln United v Notts County Women.

Your Wednesday Afternoon Weather- Return of the seven.
A team with six of their best players unavailable & a seventh on the bench & coming back to full fitness will always struggle. There is not a manager or head coach in the league system who will not struggle with seven first teamers unavailable. The players that are left have done a great job keeping Notts in touch with the leaders, despite the large number of injuries. Stuart Maynard has been able to keep Notts in the top six by getting the best out of those players, who would have been on the bench under normal circumstances. When those magnificent seven return to full fitness. Stuart will have a very big selection headache to solve & that will only make for healthy competition within the squad. Just imagine what those seven players will bring to the team come January. I'm looking forward to it. Watch out League Two.- Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Saddlers (A)
Cisse had a better rating than Bass, Macari, & Austin as well as the substitutes like Scott & Gordon on whoscored.com In his post match interview, Stuart was very pleased with his performance. Can't remember anyone on the radio commentary refering to Cisse not recieving passes.- ????????Pride of Nottingham Player of the Month – November Voting!
George Abbott is going to be a star & I'm sure he's going to make his mark in the PL one day whether it be with Spurs or another PL club. He's certainly a class above league 2 level & I think he wouldn't be out of place in the Championship even now- Weekly Chat Mon 2nd - Sun 8th December
It will soon be time to hit the sack. Dissapointing that Notts lost but the players available to Stuart did their best for the team. Looking at the other results, only three teams of the top ten won tonight, Walsall, MKDons & Grimsby. Teams around Notts are dropping points too, yet on X you'd think Notts losing is an absolute disaster. Six of our best players are missing. They could easily be all in the starting eleven come January. No one can tell the future, but there are still 28 games & 84 points to play for. The likes of Jones, Crowley, Edwards, Grant, Abbott, & Platt coming back is a mouthwatering prospect. X land shouldn't be writing off the Magpies just yet.- Weather Watch.
Your Wednesday Morning Weather- League 2 Watch. 2024/25
There were only three winners amongst the top ten teams in league 2 tonight.Walsall, Mk Dons & Grimsby. All the other teams drew or lost. So teams around Notts are dropping points too. Doncaster meet Fleetwood tomorrow.- Who is your Man of the match v Walsall?
I thought three players stood out from my shortlist. David McGoldrick put in another excellent performance. Lucas Ness came in for Platt & also had a good game. Jack Hinchy came in for currently our best player in my opinion, George Abbott, and Jack did a great job for Stuart. He even scored a well taken goal too. In my opinion, Jack had his best game for Notts, and he's my Notts player of the match. - Newspaper cartoon of the day
