New Member Ranks, Achievements and Badges
@ChrisI like the new badges. Some members have been on PON a long time, so maybe something like a long service badge, or something like that, recognising those who have been active over a certain number of years.

Players of old never seemed to get injured like they do today.

Aaron Nemane doing the business at MK Dons
I think that MK Dons got much more out of the transfer than Notts did. Grant wasn't the same type of player, & I think Notts would have been better served by getting a fast tricky wingback that was reasonable in defence too. Conor only played 11 games for MK Dons in the 23/24 season & got loaned out to Barnsley where he made 12 appearances so 23 in total that season. Conor does have an injury record He underwent surgery on his groin in summer 2022, returning to fitness in September. He played nine games before tearing a thigh muscle two months later, which required surgery and kept him out of action for five months; (Source Google) Notts do seem to take a chance on players with a past injury record.

Millwall Manager to step down
There again, the Millwall style and the players that have been signed don't go well with the Mark Robins style, except of course Macaulay Langstaff. This is the problem when managers change, they tend to want to change the style of the team too.

Romelle Donovan's loan cancelled at Burton
I really don't want to have a loan player replacing Dan if he does go. We need to sign a good attacking Midfielder on a two ot three year contract.

Weekly Chat - Monday 9th - Sunday 15th December
Good morning. Another overcast day and cold this morning too. Just waiting for the Aerial installer to come & install a new Aerial for us. Used to have Sky TV. I have the satellite Freeview now. Having the Aerial Freeview will be another option.

Millwall Manager to step down
Strange one this. Has he resigned or was he sacked? If he resigned he won't be entitled to severance pay, unless there was a private agreement that he went of his own accord & they still paid out his contract. Just checked out on Google & his contract was up June 2025, so both club & Neil could have agreed (mutual decision) he goes early & they pay up his contract. So both parties would be happy I suppose. So the replacement, could it be Mark Robins?

Your Tuesday Afternoon Weather.- Basford United.
Basford could have Eastleigh at home in the FA Trophy 4th round if Eastleigh defeat Hanwell Town in the third round. That would be a plum tie for Basford.- Notts County History Watch.

At least I'm safe from relegation this year. But you just never know.- Weekly Chat - Monday 9th - Sunday 15th December
Overcast cold morning here. Was out early getting a few things from the supermarket. Our Aerial became loose during the storm so it needs to be replaced. It hadn't been used for years anyway. Going to have a digital aerial fitted in its place.- Romelle Donovan's loan cancelled at Burton
I don't think Dan is going anywhere until he has proven his fitness after injury. And that may take several months.- Aaron Nemane doing the business at MK Dons
Nemane was good going forward but was wanting when it came to his defensive duties. We also have to say it as it is that Jodi was subject to a lot of over the top challenges on the playing field before & up to the time he was injured. Stuart had complained about it on many occasions beforehand but unfortunately he still wasn't protected by the officials adequately.- Football is a Squad Game Now.
Well we are three months down the line from when this thread was started & it looks like Stuart has had to rely greatly on his squad players to keep in touch with the leaders in league 2. Losing Edwards, Grant, Jones, Crowley, Robertson & waiting for McDonald & Ness to get match fit has really tested the strength of the Notts squad over the last few months. Players who were not expecting to feature so much in the first team have had to show their worth & the vast majority of them have. Players like Abbott, Hinchy, & Austin have stepped up to the plate. Abbott has established himself in the centre of midfield with Palmer. Hinchy is a good young prospect, & Austin has been as steady as ever in a variety of positions. And players like McGoldrick, who maybe wasn't expecting to feature in the first team so much this season, has featured in 15 out of the 18 league games played. A strong squad does pay dividends, when a Club is unlucky to have many of their first teamers out. But I'm sure Stuart will delve into the transfer market in January to strengthen the squad even further, & we might see some players leave too.- Jodi Jones Injury
Jodi Jones made 6 league appearances for Notts before he was injured, that's 12 games without Jodi now. He scored 4 goals & made 3 assists in those 6 matches. He's such an important player for Notts.- An Alex Bass Masterclass.
What a signing Alex Bass has been for Notts. An ever present in the league all season with 18 appearances. He has 6 clean sheets, & 3 Man of the Match games to his credit.- The Best Goal Scored in FA Cup History.
This FA Cup goal was brilliant from Trevor Sinclair.- Weather Watch.
Your Monday Evening Weather- Matt Palmer Has Extended His Contract
Personally, I don't think Dan will be going in the January transfer window. Due to his injury, he's now missed six league games & counting, so potentially interested clubs would want to be satisfied regarding his fitness, & it will take weeks to get Dan to the level he was before his injury. - Woking, Notts County XI second home?
