The Race To Net Zero.
Do you agree with a law that bans a perfectly good heat source for homeowners? It's a ludicrous law, but it is allowing the introduction of heat pumps to slowly increase them by stealth.New builds become old builds eventually @Piethagoram. You obviously didn't read my post. NO VAT on domestic energy bills. STOP all government funding of green energy projects. STOP all green Government incentives. STOP all green Government subsidies. Stop overseas aid. For example, Stop giving China, India & Syria aid. That will more than pay for the £1.4 needed to help pensioners & help WASPI women too.

I didn't misread your post. Unfortunately, putting heat pumps in new builds is a way of increasing that type of heating by stealth. This will continue unabated unfortunately. Both Tory & Labour are determined to race each other to Net Zero.- Jokes, Cartoons & Memes. It's the Laughter Corner.

Your Wednesday Afternoon Weather- Cheese for your health and well-being?
My favourite sandwich as a child was cheese and jam, usually cheddar cheese & home made strawberry jam.- Weekly Chat Monday 16th - Sunday 22nd December
Raining here first thing but very mild. Had our last food delivery before Xmas. Anything else will go to the Superstore for. Nothing else planned for the day, apart from making the dinner & hoovering around for the Mrs. Might watch a few Xmas movies on the TV today. Plenty to choose from.- Burton Albion appoint Gary Bowyer
Gary won a Championship trophy for Dundee then almost immediately found himself dismissed by the owners. It's a potty football world sometimes. Please to see him appointed Head Coach at Burton. I wish him good luck. Hope he is supported by the owners with some cash in the January window. The inside story of Gary Bowyer's Dundee exit as tensions laid bare before the hand-delivered note which sealed his fate | The Scottish Sun WWW.THESCOTTISHSUN.CO.UK THE email crowning Gary Bowyer as the Championship Manager of the Year...- Football Governance Bill
I agree that we need a football regulator. I read that the bill doesn't give the regulator power over parachute payments & as I've said previously, women's football needs to be regulated too Womens football is going the way of the mens game where the women's top league is pulling away from the rest & most of the money is concentrated there. The big six in the women's is becoming the big six in the men's. Hopefully at committee stage it will be made into a comprehensive bill to allow the Regulator the power to override decisions by the FA if those decisions go against the interests of all league clubs. One of the first decisions I would like to see is FA Cup replays being reinstated, & parachute payments heavily regulated.- Leganes historic win at Barca
Nice to see a shock like this. Barcelona's 2nd defeat on the trot at home. The Barca manager will be under pressure. Click the link to watch the highlights.- Polar bear encounters
A click and bait story by the BBC pushing their global warming agenda by making it initially appear as a story about Polar Bears. I was even sucked into it.- The Race To Net Zero.
Sorry @Fozzy but Heat Pumps? Homeowners must have the choice of heating system for their home whether it be Solid fuel central heating, gas central heating, gas wall heaters, or the maligned heat pump if they want it. The heat pump is definitely not a sensible choice to heat a home. Without the massive subsidies by the government, heat pumps would only be affordable for a small number of householders. Financial green incentives such as grants to install heat pumps should be scrapped, as well as tax incentives for companies building wind farms & solar panels that blight the landscape of the UK. The 8% green levy on energy bills should be scrapped as well as the standing charge. The 5% VAT on domestic energy bills should be scrapped too. The school teacher has marked your work Fozzy, & the school teacher is always right isn't he.- Check your radiators : a Which Report
We have three gas wall heaters. We have them serviced every year to ensure they are fully efficient. When we had a gas boiler at previous properties we had them serviced yearly too, and the engineer would check out the radiators and bleed them if necessary to remove air. It is important that the heating system is as efficient as possible. But because of the cost of living, some may skip on the servicing to save money,- Who is your Man of the Match v Salford?
The poll has now closed. Thanks to all of you that voted. I am absolutely delighted that by a narrow margin, on his return to the Notts team, Dan Crowley has been voted as the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match against Salford. Well Done to Dan and welcome back to the Notts team.- Cheese for your health and well-being?
I eat cottage cheese and some cheese spreads but not the traditional cheddar and Cheshire cheeses. Have to watch the cholesterol and salt, that some cheeses have in abundance.- Football Governance Bill
I don't think it's wise to make this a party political issue. There are concerns that the Bill doesn't go far enough. For instance women's football hasn't been included, & it needs to be. I think the Bill is so important that it does need more scrutiny in the committee stage, before it goes to third reading. More info here. Over-regulation worries raised over Football Governance Bill INSIDERSPORT.COM The government's Football Governance Bill passed its second reading in the House...- The Unify League
If any team from the PL want to participate just throw them out of the league never to return. Don't allow them to participate in any domestic cup competition either. It's time for the FA to get tough with any club that hints that they would be interested. Once they have gone, reconstruct the league system in England with five leagues consisting of 18 teams. 36 games in total for each league, with a four up four down promotion and relegation. FA Cup completion with PL teams joining from the first round with replays brought back in the case of a draw. This would generate cash for lower league clubs. There could also be a new competition. The British Cup, where the top four clubs of the English, Scottish, Welsh, & N Irish top leagues play each other in a knock out home & away to find a British Champion.- The Race To Net Zero.
Another day, and another betrayal by Labour. But they can find plenty of borrowed money for "the race to net zero"- Check your radiators : a Which Report
Good advice but would pensioners, the vunerable and less well off know how to set up their central heating correctly? And if they don't, would they be able to afford an engineer to set up their system properly and show them what to do?- The Race To Net Zero.
@Piethagoram Go to X and type in two tier justice. Plenty of answers on X As for London being cleaner. Have you seen the rat infested garbage on the streets of some parts of London?- The Race To Net Zero.
@Piethagoram Global warming. That would be for another debate thread. I just don't believe in man made global warming, like many other leading scientists who don't believe in it either. The Earth weather goes in cycles over billions of years. It's just a natural phenomena. Back to Labour spending The OBR projects that the government will spend £100 billion a year on debt interest payments for each of the next five years of this government. Yet Labour are going to lend an extra £36billion this year, but they go on about a £22billion black whole but at the same time commit the UK to paying £13.6billion a year in overseas aid, £3billion a year military aid for Ukraine & a further £3.5billion to fund green policies, yet can't afford £1.4b for Pensioners. (All info via google)- The Race To Net Zero.
@Piethagoram said "Anyway, I dont think heat pumps are a particularly good idea. Solar panels, yes, a cheaper way to generate electricity". So you think some Labour policies are not a good idea. Keep voting Labour will ensure these terrible policies may see the light of day. In addition. Cancelling local elections, Two Tier justice. This is not a good look is it. I'd say to anyone who walks into a polling station, just think of the consequences before you vote Labour.- Millwall Manager to step down
I'd love to see Macca back even if it's just till the end of the season. He would totally transform our front line, & make space for Jodi and Dan to work their things. - Weather Watch.
