So how are you spending the day? Are you going to a match, listening to radio?

I will be down the Lane to support the 'Pies and hopefully see a good performance and a win.

Whatever you are doing I hope your team wins.

Two new members to welcome to our community.

Welcome guys, I hope you enjoy chatting about Notts and football in general on our friendly forum.

A warm welcome to another new signing,@magpiekev.I hope you enjoy our friendly site and join in with comments and banter. Why not try your luck at the prediction league.I'm sure you can still catch up.

Today I'm up nice and early, I've been up fairly early awhile now. I've been tinkering with something, any ideas what?

Whilst you think, let me tell you a side story. Once upon a time, there was a little community who's members often introduced many fond memories to the person who administrated it. There was one certain user, he liked visiting early in morning! And yet each and every time the administrator came online to see if this early bird had raised, to the sad surprise of the administrator.... TONY HAD NOT VISITED ;) Oopps.. Keyboard JAMMMED there! Anyway where was I? oh yes.

You can tell Tony's poorly! He doesn't come out to play :(

Hopefully my stories distracted you enough from thinking about my question! dammit, what was the point in trying to distract the readers by mentioning it? I'm off back to work.

The Gaffer is under the weather so he won't be taking training today.

Seriously I hope Joe is feeling better soon and back with us.

Anyone else having issue's on Facebook?

I've managed to speak with a couple who also say they're having issues, I can't write a status which is annoying as hell. I can live without updating my wall, I really on say how I feel, think or what's on my mind but I manage a few more important things their.

Those who say FB's better than Myspace, really are eating their words now. No bugs? There's tones these days, there's not a day goes by when something doesn't work properly but this is to be expected with any social media website. I just find it very frustrating that they cannot be bothered to alert users or update them, at least on the once popular Myspace they did.

Hopefully all will be resolved soon. Time to wait :P

Ok, guys, we've all suffered from it, in fact I am just recovering from it. Now help is at hand from this website devoted to Man Flu.

Apologies if I'm not around for a few days we are off in our van for a little camping jaunt later today. The forecast is looking good, I'm just wondering whether to take the BBQ am I being over optimistic?

Good luck Notts on Friday I'll be desperately trying to get a signal on my phone to see how we doing.YOUPIES

Welcome to another new member @william1984.

Welcome aboard mate, lots of friendly chat about Notts and other things on here, come and say hello. :waving:

Having played well against you on Friday we plumbed the depths last night and were soundly beaten by Walsall. We played much worse than you did last week.

Yaser Kasim (15) made more mistakes in the first fifteen minutes than he had in all previous home matches and Massimo Luongo (4) tried to emulate him. Wes Foderingham (1) and Nile Ranger (9) were the only players to gain any credit.

Walsall "did their homework" but quite frankly you would have got something last night.

Sorry to see you lost against The Gills: I hope things turn round for you soon.

I believe an Italian manager may be looking for a new club so watch what you wish for.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that NC has got a job at Sheff Utd.

Our loss? I expect they will start to climb the table now on the back of the "new manager syndrome"

This would have been an interesting encounter for a different reason, had they have not sacked Martin Allen. Gillingham are currently being managed by interim experienced manager Peter Taylor. The media are reporting he's keen to keep the role, so he will no doubt be trying to oversee their shortfalls a little more than perhaps someone thrown into the position - making this a game we must take seriously, as there are no easy 3 points.

Gillingham are currently 19th, they've lost their last 2 games but managed to beat MK Don's 3-2 at home on the 5th of October.

This is a game Notts need to show their determination, the defense need to be stronger and more organized. We've won against sides poor than the top half, although still this isn't something to dismiss. Crewe and Tranmere are decent teams but if we can beat the bottom half of the table we will be fine.

The players need to focus and work together, it's not a case of attacking to win but playing as a team to pull away from the bottom drop zone.

Thoughts?

I've really missed playing around with Photoshop, here's some player graphics that I have done. My plans to do the whole squad - although after I did McGregor's, I struggled with time to do any more and later forgot. :P

I decided to use things like "County's ......" Just to add a little more to it. I believe the times teams have broken away from our defense or had a crack at goal - Bart is our 'Last Ditch Hero'..

Let me know what you think and who I should do next! Cheers ;)

Good luck Pies, you're gonna need it. Swindon murdered us 4-0 at our gaff today, I was very impressed with em, but we made em look like Barcelona, we were that bad!!!!

For those interested my fourth blog is all about my childhood Christmas experiences.

You can read it here http://prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/blog/5/entry-52-blog-4-christmas/

It might bring a few memories back for our older members and educate our younger members about Christmas's past.

Perhaps @super_ram can tell us what Christmas was like in Dickensian times. :rollonfloorlaughing:

With the return of the Championship this weekend we're back to two fixtures from each league.

This Saturday's fixtures:
Millwall v Queens Park Rangers

Yeovil Town v Brighton & Hove Albion

Crawley Town v Bradford City

Oldham Athletic v Carlisle United

Cheltenham Town v Rochdale

Chesterfield v Burton Albion

Good luck everyone

I have never read such a load of arrogant, condescending, disrespectful pile of tosh in my life!

I would never usually say this but come on Bournemouth! Wipe the floor with the red slime!

Sorry is a thread similar has recently been started.

David Pipe

Quite often the standout player in what was a pretty poor Notts team during the mid 2000's. He played 124 games for Notts, scoring four goals. A fullback who was pretty sound defensively, at least for League Two, and could definitely go on some tantalising runs forward. However, some Notts' fans were a bit frustrated at his lack of end product, could whip a decent ball in on his day though.

He left Notts in 2007, joining Bristol Rovers who were then in League One, for a fee rumored to be just under £90,000.

He played for Rovers until 2010, where he was released and spent time in jail for assault.

Following his release, he now plays for Newport County, being a Welsh boy himself, who have just been promoted from the Conference to League Two, the place where he began with Notts.

So a bit of a topsy-tervy run in for Pipe, but I still have fond memories of his performances for Notts.

You'd want some of the Brockenhurst and Andover players in your team. The two sides set a penalty shoot-out record scoring 29 consecutive penalties between them last night!

See them all here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24535151

Get some of them in the England squad for the next world cup just for if we get to penalties

So this is the decider.England win and it's Brazil next summer. The media are making a lot of the fact that England need to win but wont it be Ukraine who will be worrying. If England draw don't Ukraine still have to win by at least 9 clear goals.OK San Marino are one of Europe's whipping boys but they will be playing for pride and if Ukraine goals don't come early they will begin to get anxious.Anyway we owe Poland a lesson after the game nearly 40 years ago.I still haven't forgiven Alf Ramsey for not including King Kevin Hector from the start!

Surprised this hasn't already been posted on here - Notts have been handed an away tie at Oldham Athletic in the JPT Northern Area quarter final.

The draw in full:

Northern section

Oldham Athletic v Notts County

Chesterfield v Rochdale

Hartlepool United v  Rotherham United

Fleetwood Town v Carlisle United

Southern Section
Swindon Town v Wycombe Wanderers

Newport County v Portsmouth

Peterborough United v Dagenham & Redbridge

Stevenage v Leyton Orient

Ties will be played the week commencing 11th November

No I'm not going to talk about a waterlogged pitch at Britannia Stadium.

We took our eldest Grandchildren to Waterworld in Stoke at the weekend. It's about an hours drive from Nottingham but worth the trip we thought.

We expected it to be absolutely packed after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor but the kids wanted to go because it was somewhere their Dad used to take them so we bit the bullet and made the journey. We were pleasantly surprised to find the car park with plenty of space and no queue to get in, we had considered buying a queue buster ticket on line for another £3 but glad we didn't. It cost £37 for a family ticket but Mrs. H. didn't want to swim so they put an arm band on her and said if she came back when we left she would get a £6 refund.

It's £1.50 for a token for the lockers but they are very big and enough room for 3 people clothes and we got a refund of 50p for taking our token back.

Once inside it is absolutely brilliant for kids, lots of flumes and water slides, including a flume that ends up coming down into a funnel and dropping you vertically into a deep tank, kids have to be a certain height for that one.

There are also rapids which literally sweep you off your feet and take you round into a dark cave like place via a strong current, once inside it was difficult to get out without being swept round again, the kids loved it. Wave machines are also a feature and the gentle sloping shore is ideal for little ones along with smaller flumes and things for toddlers and you can take little ones down the water slides with an adult.

Mrs. H. was happy to sit and watch us with a cup of coffee and her kindle at the poolside cafe and at lunch time we took a break from the fun and joined her for a lunch, me and Mrs. H. had a Pizza Slice with fries and coke, grandson had burger, fries and coke and healthy granddaughter had a ham pannini and salad with a drink of coke, the total cost was around £16.

We stayed 3 hours although we could have stayed as long as we wanted because it wasn't very busy but we had to get the kids back home. At busy periods I think the maximum stay is 3 hours. It was a very good day out and I can highly recommend it for anyone with children or grandchildren they want to entertain on a wet winters day, our grandchildren slept on the way home in the car they were that shattered. Grandad didn't take much rocking that night either.

Due to the International break, there are no championship fixtures this Saturday. So instead of the usual 2 fixtures from each league, it will be 3 fixtures from league one and 3 fixtures from league two.

This Saturday's fixtures:
Leyton Orient v Milton Keynes Dons

Rotherham United v Swindon Town

Stevenage v Brentford

Burton Albion v Southend United

Exeter City v Hartlepool United

Mansfield Town v Bristol Rovers

Good luck everyone :)

Martin Allen's contract has this evening been terminated with immediate effect by Gillingham. They're currently 16th in league one.

Gillingham fans reaction to this news has been identical to that of our fans when he left Notts. Funny how it always seems to be a unanimous board decision. I dont think chairman like his character, and also I think many get a bit touchy when fans become so attached to a manager.

I'm willing to bet it probably wasn't results based.

Kind of sad to see, I'll always have a soft spot for him for the way he came in and revitalised our club.

Recently, Matt Alexander, son of the late Keith Alexander started writing a blog. I urge you all to give it a read if you haver a chance. He makes some very interesting points, and gives us a real insight into the modern game and particularly the work of agents - something he does himself.

He also wrote a very personal entry about his late father today on Fathers day.

Give it a read when you've got a spare few minutes :)
