  8. In summary, Bristol Rovers needed to beat Scunthorpe by 7 goals to clinch promotion on Saturday. They won 7-0 and pipped Northampton on goals scored. Northampton have to settle for a playoff place. This is where it gets interesting. In January, Ryan Loft moved from Scunthorpe to Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee. Loft didn't play against Scunthorpe. He was an unused sub. It's being reported that as part of the deal, Scunthorpe would get an extra 50K if Bristol Rovers achieved promotion. Scunthorpe have been awful all season, but last Saturday they were absolutely awful. They rolled over and played dead. The circumstances around the game will certainly raise questions …

https://iea.org.uk/publications/red-card-why-english-football-doesnt-need-an-independent-regulator/ An "academic" response but the reality is we do need an independent regulator, as the FA, PL, EFL and National League can't agree amongst themselves

  12. The transfers to and from clubs at this level has quickened the past week or so, with the play-off final having been played and contract renewals well under way. Some of the transfers are quite interesting and relevant for us too. In no particular order: Torquay A number of their fans well and truly throwing their toys out of the pram because we signed Cameron, which is probably a good indicator for us. Some strange delusions of grandeur in that fan base, probably because they reached the play-off final and are most likely hurting after throwing the league and then losing the playoff final thanks to a couple of dodgy refereeing decisions. They look set to …

The Chesterfield Town manager has been suspended pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct. Oh dear... Never really came across as a nice guy and from what I've gathered on twitter some people are suggesting he's a bit of a bully - nothing has been clarified yet though so it'll be interesting to see what happens and how it will impact Chesterfield's season.

Sometimes, one needs to take a back seat, and see a match through fresh eyes. After 90 minutes, I would say Notts would have been more than a match for either side in EFL 1 . In fact the top 8 of the Vanarama could survive quite comfortably in this league, if this match was anything to go by. Bolton had the "class" to win it, at the death... Ricardo Santos their centre half an absolute colossus ( had played for Barnet before joining Bolton)
