  10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50971696 I don't believe it as common as we are seeing now, a few years back, you started seeing it in international competitions or friendlies. Now it seems like its spread everywhere! There is no room for bigotry behaviour in football. To some degree, I accept it at times on the streets but inside major sports complexes I DO NOT. Younger and middle-age fans seem to think it's a laugh, which it is not. You see this happening far less in other sports, why all of a sudden is it becoming acceptable again in football?

  12. Which cities stand out for you because of their footballing heritage and long history of rivalries in the game? So, less of the Manchester United vs Manchester City. This one only exists due to the money pumped into City by their wealthy owner, Manchester City for me never had that fierce clash that the likes of Everton v Liverpool or, Sheffield Wednesday v Sheffield United has. I am curious about what PON members have seen and which cities would be in their top 5 [purely based on football heritage and rivalry].

  13. read the full article here Manager Sol Campbell has left League Two side Macclesfield Town by mutual consent after eight months in charge. The 44-year-old former England defender took over in november 2018 with the Silkmen bottom of League Two. Campbell kept them in the English Football League thanks to a run of just two defeats in their final 10 games. "Macclesfield Town gave me a great beginning in the managerial side of the game and fantastic learning curve which I am truly grateful for," he said. "I would like to thank all the players and staff for their support during my time at the Moss Rose and also all the loyal fans, whose belief at the e…

  16. Started by DangerousSausage,

Midnight is the EFL's deadline for Bury and things look extremely bleak for them. The EFL have stated that their ownership situation hasn't changed and that no takeover appears to be advanced. Their idiot chairman has insisted that he has the money to fund them yet also begged for 2.7 million on the radio. The EFL have suspended five matches and understandably have to act soon. It looks very bleak and my heart goes out to them. In 2006 we nearly went out of the league, it famously went down to the last day. Our opposition on the final day happened to be Bury, who also had a (remote) chance of going down and needed a draw to be sure of survival. Kasper Schmeichel play…

We've been missing a thread for the latest happenings in this wonderful league of ours, so here's one. Add anything vaguely Conference-related here. Might as well make ourselves at home Solihull Moors are top of the table and Wrexham are visiting Meadow Lane on Sunday. Luckily they've got the added distraction of the Scottish Challenge Cup (no, really). Hilariously, it's now known as the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup. Are we through the looking glass now?

Leyton Orient manager Justin Edinburgh has died, only 49-years-old. How saddening to learn! He was a firm fixture in the Tottenham Hotspur defence when I was a kid, he seemed to be a proper football man too and well respected. Such a loss to the footballing world. Rest in Peace Justin Edinburgh.
