Hi Guys, I am a student currently studying Marketing Management in my final year and am required to conduct primary-research for my dissertation. My dissertation is looking in to perceptions on controversial shirt sponsorships in football from various perspectives. As part of the research it would be helpful to get responses from fans from various locations throughout the UK with various clubs which will allow me to compare results. It would be greatly appreciated if you could take the time to complete the questionnaire which should take around 7 minutes to complete. Thank you for taking the time to help me, good luck for the rest of the season! https://www.sur…

From BBC Sport: Plans for a shake-up of English football to create 100 teams in five divisions have been cancelled after talks between the English Football League and the Football Association broke down. The EFL said in May it wanted to create an extra division and have 20 teams in each from 2019-20. The plans required authorities to find additional weekends for league games. The EFL says it has been told by the FA the plans are "no longer viable". There are currently 72 teams in the EFL - 24 each in the Championship, League One and League Two - and the organisation said the move would tackle fixture congestion and boost the finances of its member…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37551803 The announcement of Cardiff parting company with their manager http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/live-updates-cardiff-city-boss-11975415 Just proves the fact that throwing money at a football club, if not spent wisely, can result in disaster. Michael Johnson and **** Bate are on Cardiff's backroom staff. For Notts, I mentioned on another thread about the importance of the scouting network... I often wonder if it was an unsung scouting hero that spotted Grealish and McGregor. Is that scout still at Notts? @erindoors Stan Collymore's tweet: Man City. 52 scouts worldwide. …

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/oct/19/nottingham-forest-owner-hasawi-salary-player-bonuses Snouts in the trough comes to mind - although I'm not sure that this is actually that unusual in football. I seem to remember that Derek Pavis got himself a nice deal upon leaving too. But at least we achieved something under him! Also interesting that the players discussed not training due to the fridge magnate paying them late...

In one way the League One table is making for very pleasant reading. AFC Wimbledon have gone above MK Dons for the first time since having to start at the bottom of the pyramid after Wimbledon FC chose to decamp to Milton Keynes. I've been following AFCW's progress since they were founded and am chuffed for them. It would still be a bit simplistic to say that it's a wrong righted though - there's a long way to go, and in any case MK Dons are still enjoying a stolen and unearned league place. But that horse has bolted.

I know it's less than ten games into a 46 game season but the abject way RUFC has started this season, plus Stubbs' ridiculously defensive tactics & p**s poor summer recruitment renders his position untenable, & with our next three games being Huddersfield A, Newcastle H & Norwich A he has to go. Everyone at the club was disappointed when Mr Warnock chose not to take us on at the end of last season but after winning the Scottish Cup with Hibs last season, Millers fans were expecting better than the start we've had. We were in the mix for the signings of Lee Gregory (Millwall) & Tom Bradshaw (Walsall) & record offers were supposedly offered but nothin…

Do you watch any non-league football when you're not following Notts? What's your favourite "other" team? Have you got a favourite non-league ground? I used to watch Retford United a lot, saw them rise from the Central Midlands League to the Evo-Stik Premier. I spent more time than was good for me standing on a grassy embankment in an exposed field. I also got the chance to visit places like Alfreton, Eastwood and Nettleham and stand in a rusty bus shelter the main stand at Harworth Colliery. They now play in the North East Counties League and are being slightly hampered by their habit of giving the opposition a five-goal head start.

I like what Gillingham are doing: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36735786 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36727684 Wagstaff is way too good for L2. I'd expect him to score 10+ this season. Lee Martin is another fantastic signing, as long as he stays fit. If he does, he'll do very well I reckon.

So, who's going to be watching this later? Who do you think will win Palace or United? It's been a few years since I have even been remotely interested in watching the final, however this year I am. I would hate to dismiss Palace as just by making the final it's a great achievement and I tend to always root for the underdog (surely this season that would be united???) but yeah, if United use their quality and play as a team - they should win quite comfortably. This will highlight what type of 'United' side van Gaal has but good luck Palace.

I'm sat watching the game, Sheff Wed got off to a good start in their first leg - but this game hasn't quite started. I have to say, Derby look decent going forward but Tom Ince repeatedly going down easily is being a kill joy. Oh and Hull have just scored. Game on? Come on DERBY!!
