  1. Amazing to see the contribution of both Tommy Lawton and Roy Carroll to the proud history of Notts County on the same day, many years apart. Lawton for his debut goal and on-field brilliance, and Carroll for his extraordinary commitment to the club. It's stories like these that revive the golden era of the 'beautiful game'.
  2. Yes, it's a penalty, but it seems rather severe. Jodi Jones can't be expected to jump in the air as he did without it clearly hitting his arm. The real question we should be asking is, would the ball have gone in? I harbour my doubts, but I don't hold Jones responsible.
  3. @Piethagoram Don’t take it personally, but nobody can hold anyone responsible for it. It wasn’t Sam Slocombe’s fault that Crewe discovered that looping balls would put them behind our defenders. If there is any blame to be assigned, it falls on our defenders for not managing the threat. I don’t fault Jodi Jones, but you can’t leap like that in the modern game. To point fingers at Slocombe merely seems like comments making him a scapegoat.
  4. If it’s what I’m thinking, it seems like something straight from the twilight zone - perfect for Halloween with its eerie introduction.
  5. It’s a fantastic acquisition, and supporters shouldn’t pay too much attention to his brief appearance against Lincoln. While it’s nice to see him join from the bench, I suspect the reason we haven’t signed him for a longer period is due to squad size. I wonder if the club thought they had a better chance of approval for a two-month contract rather than for the entire season. It’s great to have Dan Gosling with us.
  6. He appears to be nearing a mid-life crisis, but his openness will allow him to recognise and express it if it occurs. I’m curious if he behaves this way in board meetings when things don’t go as planned.
  7. The outcome and loss don’t matter, nor does exiting the EFL Trophy. We have more important matters to attend to, and that’s not a joke about defeating Grimsby again. COYP!
  8. The acquisition of Dan Gosling appears to be a commendable move by the club, especially considering it’s only a short-term arrangement. This provides both the club and Gosling an opportunity to assess his compatibility with the team. If his performance proves satisfactory, I would be in favour of extending his stay for the remainder of the season. Beyond that, it remains to be seen what the future holds, but overall, it’s a promising signing.
  9. While my preference would be to concentrate on the league, the result was indeed positive and demonstrated the Notts team’s spirit in handling high-level opposition. I don’t believe anyone will linger on the performance; we must make allowances for our current situation, and winning games is paramount. I hope this victory bolsters the players’ confidence to improve our league form, providing them with a form of reward for their efforts.
  10. All good stuff, @Chris. I am glad that to see the changes and I have noticed its a lot more zippier around the site. Best wishes to you.
  11. The loss of Matt Palmer is a big blow, but I believe we have players waiting in the wings who can cover and allow the club to reflect on the situation come January. Even without the injuries we have, every spell is going to be tough and its for everyone to make things work. I don't focus or pay attention to rumours, even if they do come with the best of intentions. This being shown to be true, doesn't mean much but people should remember that the information will come from third parties.
  12. It's good that the Reedtz Football Radar Ltd is making a profit. It shows their business accruement's' and control of overseeing everything. It makes me feel a lot more confident that eventually we can start to live within our means too. Football clubs don't turn profit, but it would be positive to see us not losing a considerable amount each season.
  13. Hello, @Samuel Morris. Welcome to this fine fan site. I hope you join in with us.
  14. Huddersfield Town 0-1 Cardiff City Swansea City 2-1 Watford Lincoln City 1-3 Charlton Athletic Northampton Town 0-2 Leyton Orient AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Accrington Stanley Crewe Alexandra 2-1 Stockport County Joker Dagenham & Redbridge 1-1 Boreham Wood Eastleigh 0-1 Woking
  15. Italy seems to be struggling to find their feet at the moment, but they have a knack for pulling through when the stakes are high. They tend to step up their game during major tournaments. England did well against an underperforming Italy, with well-executed goals and some players really seizing their opportunity to shine, proving Gareth Southgate right for selecting them.
  16. The draw isn’t bad, though I might have fancied a different team. But we’ve got Crawley, and that’s that. It’s going to be a hard match; we know Crawley can put up a fight. Playing at home doesn’t make it any easier, but it’s a welcome change. No complaints here, I’m eager for the match.
  17. It’s all top-notch work, and while it might fly under the radar for some, I reckon the changes are spot on. They really make a difference, particularly on mobiles. The smoother the navigation, the better our experience as users. Good job!
  18. I hope that we can embark on this match with a strong determination to perform at our best and strive for victory. It is important to remember that no team is unbeatable, and Notts County should not feel intimidated by any League Two opponent. The same mindset should apply to Gillingham as well! Let's eagerly await the outcome and discover which team emerges victorious.
  19. Bristol City 0-2 Coventry City Hull City 1-1 Southampton Burton Albion 3-1 Bristol Rovers Peterborough United 2-0 Wycombe Wanderers Bradford City 1-1 Wrexham Colchester United 0-1 Harrogate Town Rochdale 2-1 Oldham Athletic Joker Southend United 0-0 Solihull Moors
  20. Tahvon Campbell is a player that came to us on loan but later played for Gillingham.
  21. It’s a moment of immense pride for Notts, as the 5000th game is a significant milestone in the club’s history. While Luke Williams is correct to keep his eyes on the present, we can’t ignore that we’re making history here. So, here’s hoping our players bring their A-game, take charge, and deliver a performance that’s not just good, but one for the books.
  22. Well, it feels like I’ve just popped out for a cuppa and come back to find everything as I left it. It’s always a treat to see @Fan of Big Tone, perched in his deck chair at the front of the queue like he’s camping out for the Boxing Day sales. And of course, spotting you @super_ram is like finding a beloved character in a favourite book. This place is chock-full of delightful personalities, isn’t it?
  23. It’s wonderful to be back! I was away for a few days and missed the return, but I’m thrilled to be here again. I can’t wait to see what discussions are happening, what fun I can have, and how the site is returning to its friendly and uplifting nature.
  24. The upcoming match will be tense. I hope that the regular supporters who have made this season’s away games so impressive will take advantage of the free travel, rather than those who don’t contribute to the atmosphere. We’ll need all the support from the black and white army. It’s likely to be a close game, so we need to make sure we’re ready to score and that the players stay on their feet.
  25. I’m pleased to be back. It’s unfortunate that someone thought it was worth causing such distress. This reflects more on their values than anything else. However, Nottingham’s pride will recover. This site is friendly and enjoyable, and the community needs to stand together to ensure only good things happen. Thanks for the update and for working to make things better.
