  1. Many happy returns @super_ram, I hope you have those grandkids of yours around with you.
  2. Losing a game is never easy, but it's a part of the sport. We knew that at some point, we would experience a loss, and unfortunately, that day has arrived. While it can be frustrating, we were not outplayed by the opposing team. Instead, it was a combination of bad luck and some questionable calls from the referees that contributed to our defeat. Despite the disappointment of the loss, we are not giving up. We have a week off to regroup and refocus before our next game. It's essential to use this time wisely to address the issues that caused us to lose and work on our weaknesses. The season is not over yet, and we have many opportunities to turn things around and come out on top. In the end, we must stay positive and keep our heads up. It's important to remember that losing one game does not define our entire season. We must continue to work hard, stay focused, and believe in ourselves and our abilities. With perseverance, determination, and a little bit of luck, we can come back stronger than ever and achieve success in the remainder of the season.
  3. I am delighted with the team's performance against Southend United. As the league leaders Notts comfortably collected all three points at Meadow Lane, outclassing the sixth-placed Shrimpers. Although Southend made some changes to their starting line-up, they could not stifle the creative play Notts shown. Macauley Langstaff scoring his 31st goal of the season is a pleasing moment, and John Bostock and Sam Austin worked well to find the back of the net. Southend had some early threats, but this Notts dominated most of the game. One of the finest performances this season,
  4. God bless, Granny Pie always came across a very loving and friendly women. May she rest in peace.
  5. The club will be in mourning after the loss of Colin Slater, its hard to see how the game may unfold due to this. Notts must be at their best for this.
  6. Play no fear football, with smart but less obvious risks and Notts could reap the rewards. On paper, I think Notts looks the more creative outlet.
  7. @DangerousSausage I think tomorrow is a good chance to see what Vincent has to offer, we haven't seen much of him and if Notts progresses further in the cup. Ian Burchnall will need to mix things up, know who can come on and make an impact.
  8. The upturn has to happen sooner or later, I just worry that a few more defeats will happen before something gives. Yeovil aren't a side I think anyone should write off. Ian Burchnall needs to make sure we have the right balance in attacking and defensive play, if we lead, he should be mindful of the players switching off and try to shout out commands to experience players to try to weather the storm.
  9. I thought Notts had a lot of luck to take the lead, Halifax created more chances that could've resulted in goals but seemed to struggle to get the clear cut to take them. At 2-0, Notts needs to learn to close the game off and just kill time, without making stupid mistakes. To allow a game to go from 0-2, to 3-2, especially after the result results its just neglectful and naïve. Something has to be put in place in the training to improve this, otherwise the season will soon be over.
  10. On paper, it looks like a young lad who is close to becoming his clubs first team keeper. A loan like this could help him if he impresses, if he don't it's no loss to us really.
  11. Inserting pace with Notts could be difficult for opposition teams to play against, I think if Lewis Knight could work on his delivery/crossing he could adapt to covering out wide.
  12. It's always a positive thing when a newly signed player gives credible reasons for having signed. Yes, promotion can be a cliché thing to state but the talk of Ian Burchnall getting the most out of him, looking beyond the two seasons he has initially signed on for. Well it's only a good thing in my eyes.
  13. It sounds as if IB is a more thoughtful manager when it comes to the recruitment side, Notts could probably throw a dozen or so players at him and he appears to want to reflect on each. It doesn't sound like a bad thing to me.
  14. Now a box to box midfielder that has the ability to break quickly and create those much needed chances!
  15. It shouldn't have started if they want to scrap it now, carry on but keep safe. Take a break if needed or dock teams points who fall down with it. Maybe they would take it more serious?
  16. The performance might not have been the best, poor game all round but the points are important. People say they want Notts to be able to win ugly, well they have. This season will be largely hit and miss in my opinion, but its important that good results start to come. Winning, playing regularly [without breaks/gaps] will only be a blessing. The fixtures are going to come much faster now, so this helps to lift the club. Very happy with the win. Disappointed that we are still sluggish in our play but hopeful.
  17. It quickly went downhill. It's a disappointing loss for the main reason that Notts attacked better than them, we just made a pigs meal of every slight attack that they had. No real danger otherwise!
  18. If Cal Roberts and Enzio Boldewijn are on fire, they should free up the middle and cause nothing but nightmares. I have faith in the squad being good enough, defensively I am not as concerned. I feel the score will be 3-1, goals from Kyle Wootton, Cal Roberts and Jim O'Brien.
  19. Both teams gave everything to the game, I do feel Aldershot can consider themselves somewhat unlucky because they silenced Notts by scoring. It took Notts some time to get the equaliser, but once it came momentum was on Notts side. I thought Aldershot just need better finishing, enjoyable game.
  20. The thing is Notts have struggled at points this season playing teams exactly like Eastleigh, they're physical, tall and empowering. I think it will be a harder game than some realise.
  21. It's just a fantastic win against the league leaders, 3 points right there that could have been 1 or less. Good luck to Barrow with the rest of their season.
  22. Very dire first half, Notts looked bright up to the point Enzio scored. I need to see a stronger second half, this can't get much worse!
  23. PM Boris Johnson has said in the news that if or when it becomes a problem, the UK is setup to handle it.
  24. It will blow over, China should have done more to quarantine it.
  25. I expect Neal Ardley to field a strong lineup with only a few changes from the last game. O'Brien might start ahead of Rose. The focus does need to be kept on the league though, I will be there in the Pavis on Saturday.
