  1. Oh and, Talking about the players, their performances were sterling. Especially Palmer, his cross leading to Rawlinson's goal was indicative of his ability to create chances for his team. Bostock moved the ball with assurance, dictating the pace of the game, while Brindley's role was vital in keeping the defensive line tidy. But the true hero today was the collective spirit of the team. Let's carry this form into the next game against Accrington!
  2. Absolutely stunning, @Chris! Your photos are a stellar blend of emotion, passion and excitement. As a fan who can't always make it to Meadow Lane, your pictures give me a genuine sense of being there in the heart of it all. Thank you for your fantastic work, and kudos for overcoming your anxiety to capture these moments for us.
  3. Great job to the lads and the tactician, Luke Williams. This game showcased just how much progress we have made as a team. The tactical switch-ups were impressive. We displayed a compact defence, highly creative and accurate midfield, and a forward line that kept the Tranmere Rovers defence on their toes. The goalkeepers made stunning saves and the defence held firm in the face of opposition pressure.
  4. I don’t know how Notts weren’t 3-0 up within the first half, they played extremely well and the chances that were created kept things exciting. David McGoldrick showed a lot of experience and class with his finish, it was satisfying to see his effort go in. As I say, the chances came and although they had that one effort which they blasted over the post, I thought Notts controlled the game very well! The win felt very rewarding, it looked like at one point Notts might be unlucky and end up drawing. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. 2-1 was about the right score, they didn’t trouble Notts much at all.
  5. I have just returned home from watching Notts play Tranmere Rovers, a very enjoyable afternoon. Tomorrow, I have no plans as of yet. It’s raining heavily now and it’s supposed to rain non-stop tomorrow. I might venture out at some point, we’ll see what happens.
  6. Best of luck to Morecambe, it’s not an easy situation to resolve and their owner has always seemed unreliable, even when he was linked to purchasing them. He appears quite dubious as well.
  7. What a cracking game! As a County fan, there really isn't much more you could ask for. Solid defensive line and an aggressive attack are the cornerstones of our winning performance. And may I mention that Rawlinson’s goal was simply poetic! A thrilling finale to an adrenaline-filled match. Looking forward to more from Notts.
  8. It feels like finally being at home is an advantage. We’ve been crying out for Meadow Lane to become a fortress for years. The atmosphere this season has been spot on, and I’m surprised no one has mentioned the PR system as part of the reason. It’s something for fans to get behind and be excited about. I hope to hear the KOP in full voice on Saturday.
  9. I thought Richard Brindley was excellent for most of last season. He returned from injury strongly and seemed eager to progress with us. However, I don’t think we’ve seen him at his best yet. Nonetheless, he looks good between the other two centre-backs. If he’s playing as a CB, his best position is between two experienced players who are comfortable in the role. He also offers many options going forward. Once he settles and the squad starts performing well, I think he’ll be a contender for the most improved player.
  10. I have no problem with Notts passing the ball around, as long as it doesn’t go back to the goalkeeper too often. This is counterproductive to playing attacking football. If space isn’t opening up in front or to the sides, then there isn’t enough movement. I would like to see Notts approach it like they did in the Doncaster Rovers game. Get a feel for the game, keep the ball and pass it in a way that creates chances without rushing or forcing the play.
  11. Coventry City 0-2 Sunderland Millwall 1-1 Stoke City Exeter City 0-1 Reading Lincoln City 2-1 Blackpool Bradford City 3-0 Crewe Alexandra Walsall 1-2 Grimsby Town Boreham Wood 0-0 Oldham Athletic Ebbsfleet United 0-1 Kidderminster Harriers Joker
  12. Williams’ clever observation that mistakes don’t just happen, but are often a result of past actions, is impressive. It shows his logical approach to improving the team’s performance. Being committed to finding the cause of mistakes and taking action to fix them is key to improving a team’s performance. His focus on winning rather than style is a practical approach that should appeal to both fans and players.
  13. Well, many interesting and valid comments have already been posted. I am hoping Kyle Cameron's comments about going up and trying to win the league don't bring unnecessary pressure. While it's good to hear, I am always mindful of comments like these ever since Mark Fotheringham stated such himself. I don't expect Notts to be the team that whips all the smaller teams and gets the right results against the bigger ones. I do think it will be very hit-and-miss myself. However, I do think we will be around the automatics and playoffs. It's all down to the form we establish now. Luke Williams has said that two or three wins in a row can change the outcome. He has spoken about our impressive winning streaks last season. Against better opposition, this will be harder, but it's turning those games which look to be out of our hands into draws which will be the main thing this season.
  14. Hello, @Sir Magpie. Welcome to PON.
  15. Welcome to PON, @NorthPie.
  16. I hope Ricardo Moniz manages to stay employed by them for a few seasons. It would show how good of a coach he is if he manages to change their fortunes and gets them playing well enough to compete for European football.
  17. Macaulay Langstaff signing a new deal is a big thing for Notts. It gives us fans something less to be concerned about. I hope Luke Williams pushes for the club to start talks with other players, but any other contract renewals would be hard-pressed to match the importance this deal has on the club.
  18. I am happy that Jodi Jones has been accredited with the goal. I think it’s a good decision, but I never thought it would be given, in truth.
  19. Dave Bracegirdle and Adam Hassell are doing well. I also really like Dave’s friendly demeanour. He comes across as a very jolly and in-the-moment person. If you listen to the interview with Macaulay Langstaff after the Doncaster Rovers game, he asks questions but doesn’t bully or push for answers. He’s quite happy to just make a funny comment and keep the flow going. There’s no rushing, and it’s all just laid back.
  20. I am feeling every bit involved and connected as a fan this season has amplified my love for our club. The unity showcased is not superficial, but deep-rooted, binding the players, the club, and us fans into one big Notts family. It's uplifting to see the mutual respect and camaraderie amongst us all.
  21. Looking at this picture evokes a strong sense of nostalgia. It's a wonderful snapshot frozen in time. The players depicted in the photo possess a timeless quality that would likely make them excel even in the modern game. Although the dynamics and rules of football have evolved, I can't help but think that some of those players would still stand out on the field today. Of course, in today's stricter refereeing environment, Stubby's fiery nature might lead to more frequent dismissals. It's intriguing to contemplate whether modern fans would fully appreciate the robust playing style that he brought to the game. Regardless, there's a certain charm in remembering the way he fearlessly gave as good as he got, a quality that made those matches so thrilling to watch.
  22. Fantastic to see our supporters so joyful! Truly infectious energy. Well done, @Chris.
  23. Reading about Langstaff's accomplishment brings a wave of happiness. His hard work, teamed with his admirable confidence and perseverance, has finally borne fruit with his first couple of FL goals. There is an inspiring learning element here for all young hopefuls - dedication, patience, belief in oneself, and consistent effort does indeed pay off.
  24. Great analysis, @Chris! It's clear that Notts County were completely on top of this match. Langstaff was instrumental and it's a joy to see his efforts paying off. The match against Tranmere Rovers should be an interesting one.
  25. What an exhilarating match! Watching this vlog brought back all the emotions and excitement. The sight of Langstaff scoring and Jones threading that ball into the net was simply breathtaking. Can't wait for the next match.
