  1. It's incredibly encouraging to see Langstaff talking so optimistically after the win. His performance was indeed a highlight of the game, and his satisfaction is well warranted. His statement about the team's training and tactics is the real takeaway here. It seems the team is well-coordinated and has a similar vision for their game plan. This pre-season triumph is a strong indication of how serious the players and the management are about doing well in the upcoming season.
  2. Intriguing analysis of Notts County's first five league games of the season. Starting with an away game against Sutton United, it certainly presents an excellent chance for Notts to kick off the campaign on a high note. Despite the loss of some key players, Sutton's end-of-season form suggests that they may struggle initially in this year's league. A decisive win for Notts could bolster the team's morale and set the stage for the subsequent challenging encounters.
  3. It's great to hear the positive comments about Aaron Nemane's speed and precision. He’s going to be a game changer this season!
  4. Is anyone going? I wonder if we will see Junior Morias play; he and the new signings will be interesting to see. We all know these games are about fitness, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see us play a more defensively-minded team, as even this would be quite strong against Nuneaton.
  5. If there's one thing this return to the EFL demonstrates, it's the indomitable spirit of Notts as a formidable football club. Being able to overcome years of adversity and reclaim their spot is genuinely commendable. This achievement is undoubtedly a collective result of commitment, hard work, and fearlessness.
  6. Woolworths has made a comeback in WH Smiths, but other stores such as Partners and Staples seem to have disappeared. Brantano has closed its physical stores to operate solely online. Most Disney stores have also gone, along with Wimpies and Broadmarsh itself. Many things have vanished and will eventually be forgotten. Some of this is due to the rise of online shopping, but high retail ground rates can also be a contributing factor. Other stores that have disappeared include Blockbuster, HMV, Virgin Superstore and Fopp.
  7. @CliftonMagpie I agree, it's always nice to see a player who genuinely wants to be at a club. And it sounds like Crowley was really impressed by the gaffer and how he wants to play football. That bodes well for the team.
  8. I believe that Crowley will be an excellent addition to Notts County's attacking midfield. With his wealth of experience and distinctive playing style, he has the potential to make a significant impact on the team. His unique approach to the game could bring a fresh dynamic to the squad and help them achieve even greater success.
  9. Jim has been a very reliable and professional servant of Notts County. In his first full season, he brought some accountability to the midfield and helped settle the club down. In his second and third seasons, he became more of a leader on the pitch without always carrying the pressure of the armband. I think once his playing days are over, those who doubted him will realise what he brought to Notts.
  10. Good statement from the board. Kyle Cameron has committed to a new 2-year deal and that is fantastic news.
  11. I wholeheartedly agree, Skip. I think Jim has proven time and time again that he’s a good part of this squad and that he deserves to be given a contract. I would have liked to see him play at Wembley, but as he said in his interview, he knew John wasn’t coming off. But I think that shows the quality we have when the engines get going and the coal begins to produce fuel in the tank. O’Brien still has it. His last name reminds me of a bygone era of Notts and just like Ray, Jim loves this club.
  12. I still haven’t woken up yet; I am waiting for the moment when I realise Alan Hardy still owns the club and we’re now in the National League North with someone like David Batty as the manager.
  13. He’s earning his caps alright; I hope he manages to get the goal he craves. No better team to cause an upset against than England.
  14. I wouldn’t blame him if he decided to retire and leave the position for someone else to fill. However, I am delighted that he has signed a new deal. He’s a squad member who gives his all, plays to win and tries to help those around him. These are all worthy reasons why the club has offered him a new one-year deal.
  15. Yes, it’s good news regarding Jim extending his stay amongst the departure of Ruben Rodrigues. I think Jim will be a useful addition to the squad in League Two; he very rarely misses a beat.
  16. I fully understand his decision to leave; I expected it at the end of the season and I think he deserves a chance to play at a higher level. I think his decision to choose Oxford is down to extending his game time; he’s no spring chicken.
  17. Ruben will be just fine at Oxford United. They have been a good League One team and he will have weighed things up.
  18. Welcome back David. I’m eager to see how you will perform against League 2 defenders. Well done to everyone who made this deal possible.
  19. I’m excited to see how Jodi performs against top-level competition. He’s got the talent to make an impact. He has shown his quality and versatility in different positions and situations. He has also demonstrated his confidence and composure under pressure. I think he has what it takes to challenge himself and prove himself on the international stage.
  20. I have little idea on which players Notts could bring in to help tighten the defence, I am not worried about the amount of goals conceded last season but I do think a CB/LWB is needed.
  21. Congratulations to Tiernan Brooks on his fantastic achievement of being selected for the Ireland U21 squad. He has worked hard and shown great potential as a goalkeeper for Notts County. He will be joining his fellow Irishmen in Austria for three friendly matches ahead of the UEFA U21 European Championship qualifiers. This is a great opportunity for him to gain valuable experience and exposure at the international level. We are very proud of him and wish him all the best in his future endeavours!
  22. Greg Tempest was a nice lad who was always happy and willing to work hard. I do not know what happened to him at Notts but I wish he had found the ability to improve and move forward with his career instead of backwards.
  23. Tony Hateley was a legend and it’s great to see him being remembered so fondly by the fans. His impact on the club and its supporters is clear from Fan of Big Tone’s story. It’s wonderful to see how much he meant to the fans and how he will always be remembered as a Notts County hero.
  24. Great signing! Randall is a quality player who can make a difference in the midfield. He was brilliant for Sutton last season and I’m sure he’ll fit in well at Notts.
  25. After reading about the journeys of these playoff-winning teams, I can’t help but feel optimistic about our prospects in League Two. It’s encouraging to see teams like Exeter City and Forest Green Rovers making their mark in higher leagues. This inspires us to aim high in our upcoming campaign. We can learn from their success and strive to achieve similar results in our own journey. Good article, @Simon Clark.
