Luke Williams Shares His Insight into Notts County’s Pre-Season Friendly Against Nottingham Forest
I don’t know how Luke Williams managed to distract Kyle Cameron, or why he would, but from what I remember, Connell Rawlinson passed the ball to Kyle and he was just slow in responding. I don’t really care about the mistake; I just don’t know why Williams is trying to protect Cameron. Even if the manager is trying to get your attention, it’s down to him to focus on the moment. There’s no reason for it to become a negative though. Forest’s quality always looked like a problem and we created far better chances early on than we did in the second half.

Notts Alumni: Ian Richardson
Mike Edwards gets a lot of love, but Ian Richardson is 5x more Notts County than him. He would walk over piping hot coals just to make sure that Notts were safe. He’s one in a million and such a very dedicated person.

Notts County’s Tobi Adebayo-Rowling Makes Triumphant Return to the Pitch
The inspiration shown by Tobi Adebayo-Rowling is truly extraordinary. Despite having been out of action for some time, he's returned to the pitch with phenomenal grace and strength. His love for the game and his commitment to his team shines through in his performance, setting a brilliant example for his fellow players.

Match Discussion: PSF - Forest (H)
I hope Luke Williams gives the youngsters a chance to play, but I think starting with a stronger squad than we did against Stoke would be useful. We are reaching the stage where settling the squad down for the season ahead is important. I have no objections to seeing them come on as substitutes. Seeing what a strong 11 can do would tell Luke more. I don’t expect this to happen and I don’t really care if Notts lose. The important thing is fitness and getting the squad settled together.

Southend Utd survive High Court hearing
Best of luck to Southend. It would be a football crime to see them join Bury. I hope they survive the next time they appear in court and that there is some good news for their fans.

Pinchbeck United 3 Notts County Reserves 2
I used to sponsor the reserve and youth teams many years ago and was disappointed when they were scrapped by the Trews. Competitively, there is no substitute for being in an actual competitive league. The reserve team, being mixed with fringe players, can help younger upcoming prospects. However, with the state of the game, many lower clubs are opting not to field a team in a league and instead are choosing to play friendlies and behind-closed-doors games. I used to watch the youth team quite frequently as well.

Notts County Gears Up for the New Season with Strong Additions
upthepies commented on TheSkipper's blog entry in Black and White Memories: Nostalgia for Notts County Fans with TheSkipperGreat blog! I completely agree about holding an enthusiastic and positive outlook for the Notts County team this season. From the looks of the preseason training and the new additions made to the team, it seems they are determined to leave no stone unturned in their quest for success. The new players, as outlined in your post, bring a blend of experience and youth that I believe will form a formidable force against any adversary. The roles filled by the new players seem strategically planned. Jones and Randall, with these two wingers taking charge of either side, the attack line should pose a serious threat to opponents. McGoldrick’s championship experience should provide crucial guidance to the team, and Crowley, with his experience could impress us with his play-making skills. Stone, as a goalkeeper, could provide the defence strength required. Assuming that they will positively impact the team on a consistent basis, the upcoming season could potentially be highly successful for Notts. I would go so far as to say that a back-to-back promotion should not be deemed improbable for a team as promising as this, especially given the optimistic sentiment expressed by the fans and the solid start to the preseason.

Trophy: Grab a photo!
It's nice to see the club trying to engage more with its fans and taking steps to include them in the celebrations. It's not just about boosting the sales of merchandise, but about making the supporters feel that they are genuinely part of this victorious journey. Notts has been the heart of many, and they are reciprocating the love in a unique way. If only more clubs took such initiatives.

A Plea for Support from an Elderly Notts Fan
I share @Wilfordpie's concern. It's heartening to see such level of loyalty and consistent support. This club has seen its fair share of highs and lows. I've been there when we've celebrated victories and found it equally vexing when we did not fare as well, but I believe that it's part of the journey. Criticism, constructive one at that, is always welcome as that's the way to improve but pointless cacophony and verbal abuse, especially targeted at younger players, serves no good purpose.

Archie Mair joins Gateshead
Great signing for Gateshead! Well done to Archie Mair, and all the best to him in his future.

Where are they now? Shaun Derry
Good luck to Shaun Derry with Crystal Palace. I hope he stays there longer this time around and doesn’t get fired for something silly.

Matchday programmes
I don’t buy a programme, so I am in the minority of fans who wouldn’t be bothered if they stopped selling them. Reducing the pages to cut costs sounds like a way to please fans; maybe the club should look for a smaller publisher?

MAGnets Links - Nottingham For*st
John Thompson is another player who has played for both Notts and Forest; there will be many more too.

Weekend Plans 7th-9th July
I have no plans for tomorrow. I suspect the rain will mean it will be a cosy and relaxing day, spent sitting in front of my TV watching whatever takes my fancy. Like many others here, I went to the friendly against Stoke on Saturday, and on Friday I was working.

Pre-season synopsis, Stoke (H)
I thought Stoke City would find the game easy, but I didn’t think Notts would make it easier for them. Some of the poor passing and defensive decisions gave them more opportunities. I was actually a bit disappointed because fans came in good numbers, but the second half was much better. Once Jodi Jones came on, things flowed much better. I thought Sam Austin was unlucky not to get on the score sheet. Dan Crowley wasn’t the Man of the Match for me. David McGoldrick would have been. He did a lot of good stuff with limited time on the ball. I don’t want someone to come back and say, “What do you expect? It’s a friendly.” While the result doesn’t matter, the issues we saw need to be cut out. They are fundamentally basic things that have plagued us since the last time we were in League Two.

New kit revealed at last
Both shirts look great. I like that the home shirt is different. I don’t think it’s a bad design at all. The away shirt looks quality. Simple designs usually look the best. It’s a nicer colour than the pastel shades we’ve seen in recent years, such as mint and purple.

Twitter threatens legal action over Threads app
I’m not surprised, but what happens may be dragged through the courts for many years. It could be settled out of court, but if I were Mark Zuckerberg, I would try to make it look fresher and more modern. Twitter has a simple design, and there are many ways it can be improved.

Threads
Threads looks interesting, but I won’t join until they open accounts that don’t require Instagram. I don’t see the point in being forced to join two sites. If I wanted to, I could easily do that myself.
