This poor man is an emotional wreck because of Notts fans
Ah, the sweet taste of victory! It’s hard to forget the sight of our rivals driving away from Wembley with their tails between their legs. But hey, all’s fair in love and football, right? ????

New kit revealed at last
I think the home shirt will grow on me; there’s time between now and its release for me to decide if I will buy it or not. I have got the away shirt; normally, I don’t buy away shirts, but I think this one will be a classic in years to come. I like everything about it; the material is very nice.

Threads
I would prefer to focus on PON, but I have considered joining. I wasn’t aware until recently that you had to have an Instagram account, so it’s unlikely I will until that changes. I just hope some of the idiots on Twitter don’t make their way over and ruin it there.

Luke Williams : Notts v Stoke City
Luke Williams isn’t going to point out the problem when the club is trying hard to bridge the connection between them and the fans. However, many of the people who think we should have played better might have a fair point. Those who hurled abuse and said things towards certain players, like Aidan Stone, were not needed. Just look at the pressure it causes. It’s taken what seemed a merry point into something frustrating for all involved. Williams looks like a man who blames himself, like he could have protected them, but sometimes fans need to show a bit of encouragement. It’s a pre-season friendly; some supposed Notts fans are a shambles.

Archie Mair joins Gateshead
I think Archie Mair needs more experience to become a regular number one. He’s quite far behind Sam Slocombe, and he should get that experience at Gateshead. It’s a very good signing for them; I wish him all the best.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Potters (H)
From a defensive standpoint, it was a good game with much for Luke Williams to take away. Stoke City played well, but Notts made it easier for them and the defence let Aidan Stone down. He seems like a capable keeper, but he can only save what’s in front of him. If the defence can’t prevent one-on-ones, then Williams needs to reconsider. Had we started with our best options, things might have been different. So it’s not all bad. In my opinion, throwing some of the youngsters into a friendly like this can be detrimental as they may not be ready. The PA system sounded clear and was fine for speech, but for some reason, music was set to the same volume, which was deafening. The volume needs adjusting for music as I left with a headache from the loudness before the game and at half-time. It was like being right next to the speakers at a rock concert.

Pre-season synopsis, Stoke (H)
I thought the new sound system was set too high. It was deafening at times and I noticed some young people requiring headphones because of it. The club might have thought about it, as Notts does have a lot of fans with sensory concerns. Blasting them with a new sound system just because we can isn’t going to help. I would encourage them to turn it down. I don’t fancy going deaf. Stoke City looked like a decent Championship team. They went to win and wanted to show off a little. I don’t blame them because it was entertaining to see them knock the ball about. Aidan Stone could have done better at times. I didn’t see him being all that vocal, but defensively Notts were poor. Kyle Cameron got caught out quite a bit and just went to ground, some of which wasn’t even a foul on him. He needs to cut this out in the league, but it’s not convincing and it comes from his own decisions. The lad Notts played up top in the second half, was that Luther? He looked like he could create problems but didn’t look like a goal threat. He could have done with someone like Cedwyn Scott to play alongside. I don’t think the scoreline flattered Stoke. They worked hard and punished us for making too many silly decisions. It’s not the end of the world, but it does show that a good pressing team can turn our defence into jelly.

Matchday programmes
Notts should consider selling a digital copy of the programme. All modern Android and iPhones can download something that reads them. This would be a good idea, as a paper version just becomes clutter. I haven’t collected them for years, as they just take up space and I think 30 pages is more than enough. However, I would encourage the club to look at a digital copy and ensure that the quality of features remains high. Cut out some of the community stuff when it’s just filler. If there’s something worth mentioning, I like that, but most isn’t worth printing.

Notts County FC Academy Dan Leivers receives significant funding boost after promotion
I am happy for Dan Leivers and the team. This is a good thing for the academy and its future players. Just imagine all the potential that will be unlocked with the increased funding and the crucial positions that can now be filled.

Adam Summerton on League 2
Form and performance will determine teams’ success. Having a large budget can backfire, but I expect most of the teams that have been mentioned to be in the running. I wouldn’t write off Bradford City; they have a good manager and can overcome setbacks. I do think Notts will be in the running for another successful season.

Nice gesture by Stoke FC
It’s a good gesture by Stoke City to accredit Jason Turner. I wasn’t aware that his death was heart-related, but it’s a nice thing for them to do. This makes it all the more important for the club to do something similar, as it seems only right.

Meta to launch Twitter rival
It looks like the social media wars are in full swing, with Meta versus Musk. It will be interesting to see if either has a knock-on effect on the other, or if both social networks will survive and be popular in their own right.

Notts County’s Luke Williams on Building a Competitive Squad for League Two
Wise words from Luke Williams. It’s going to be a long season, and at least this time around we are prepared to make the players work for their places in the squad. It’s good that we have all four areas of the pitch covered, although there is a slight belief that we may require someone to rival Adam Chicksen and perhaps another quicker centre-back.

Twitter is fading
I bet those Twitter users who voted for him to leave the platform now regret doing so, as he’s having the last laugh by driving everyone else out. It won’t kill Twitter, but it will have a big knock-on effect, and I have read stories about people deactivating their accounts in droves. Elon Musk has created a negative place for a negative social network. He’s doing a fantastic job.

Weekend Plans 30th June - 2nd July
I went for a few drinks on Saturday, not more and not less. I had a nice evening, then came back to some proper English food. I didn’t get a kebab or go on a bender. On Sunday, I relaxed and sat watching TV. Surprisingly, I enjoyed watching the films that I found.

Notts County Fans Eager for Return to Football League
You can't help but feel a sense of euphoria over Notts County's triumphant return to the Football League. The team's determination and the support of the fans led to the end of their four-year absence from tier football. This is more than just a welcome return; it's a metaphorical rebirth.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Boro (A)
It should be a good run-out for both teams. What I look forward to seeing in friendlies is how the players link and communicate with each other. It will also be interesting to see if Luke Williams mixes up the tactics and formation, or if he sticks with the 5-4-1 formation. And who will be the main striker? It’s got to be Macaulay Langstaff.

Notts Alumni: Mick Vinter
Mick Vinter's passing is a heartbreaking loss for the Notts County community. As a player, he was renowned for his physicality and goal-scoring abilities, which made him a force to be reckoned with on the pitch. His time at the club was marked by impressive performances and significant contributions to the team's success. Vinter's commitment to the club extended beyond his playing days, as he stayed involved in coaching and charitable work. His impact and presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever be cherished by the fans and the club.
