  1. Dean Leacock had a small comb tucked away in his shorts and briefs. Every time a corner came and he headed the ball, he would comb his hair - literally the first thing he would do.
  2. I do not recall any interest being expressed in this player before. I am unsure if he would be a good fit, but like others, it’s probably just a rumour.
  3. Jim is a very useful squad player. He comes on from the bench and gives his all. He starts and helps, keeping up with many of the younger players. I understand some fans’ point of view when it comes to his age, yet I see it as a blessing. He has so much knowledge of the game to pass onto others while still being able to contribute at a high standard. A few misplaced games here and there are nothing; he is largely more consistent than most. I am very happy.
  4. I am very happy that Jim has signed a new one-year deal; it sounds about right. He can reflect on how he feels and his body at the end of the next campaign. For now, he is a useful squad member.
  5. Farewell Ruben. You have given us the best three years of your playing career and scored many wonderful goals. Without touching upon your other contributions, all the best with moving on.
  6. Oxford United fans will be hanging on our every word, so we should be mindful not to praise Ruben too much. Leave them guessing! He’s a good player; they’ve done well to snap him up and get him to commit. I did think he would go to a bigger club - no disrespect to Oxford, but League One is about right for them.
  7. He took his time to decide it would seem. I hope he made the best choice and didn’t go to them because they offered the most money. I do feel it could probably have tempted him, but Oxford could get a good few seasons out of him. I don’t know if he would fit their style of play, yet I hope for his sake that they do.
  8. I used the topicfeed to post, it has duplicated my post here.
  9. It’s a fairly nice-looking award too, very nice suite. I am pleased for him. I bet it was a great night.
  10. In my opinion, it all depends on his role and the number of games he played. He performed well for Derby in a team that was pretty much forced together. I have decided to see the bigger picture and feel that if he can do well in that situation, his experience can help us in ours. It's important to consider the context in which he was playing and the challenges he faced. Despite the difficulties, he was able to perform at a high level and contribute to the team's success. This shows his resilience and adaptability, qualities that can be valuable in any situation.

  12. No, I don’t use a signature yet. I shall think of something funny to add and change it periodically to see if anyone notices
  13. I wish them well; I dislike reading stories like this, but the club seems to be experiencing toxicity on both sides having read the story. The fans aren’t exactly helping the situation by driving investors away.
  14. He will be King Ruben if he stays! He needs to sign that deal now! I don’t expect it to happen but it would be nice if he could then nutmeg League Two players to his heart’s content.
  15. I remember watching the games against Coventry and thinking how great it would be to have a young player like Jodi Jones in our squad. He played with such flair and ambition and was a menace on the ball. His goals were skillfully crafted and I think our players hated playing against him. He was a joy to watch. Jodi Jones looked like he instantly fitted in with Notts. Sometimes you get players who come and don’t give their all, but I think he took his chance. I don’t know if he signed for Notts thinking this is where he could push on with his career or if he just saw it as a good chance to attract interest once his deal expired. Regardless, I am glad he signed for us and nobody else. He’s a big coup and will be a massive player for Notts in League Two. He is a talented player and I’m excited to see him play more for Notts County. He has already shown that he can make an impact on games with his pace and skill on the ball. He seems to have settled into the team well and I think he will only get better as he gets more game time.
  16. I am truly impressed by your achievements so far and I have high hopes for the future. You have successfully brought us back to the Football League and I believe you have the potential to take us even further. I am confident that with your leadership and the resources available, Notts County can once again become a great club. Keep up the good work!
  17. Good luck to Ricardo! I wish him all the success he can achieve and hope he manages to turn his new club’s fortunes around.
  18. It’s such a shame when a football governing body cares more about money and bribes than the well-being of its teams. It inevitably has a negative impact on the good teams.
  19. Enda Stevens could be an interesting signing, but I’m not sure if he would want to be a rotational player or if he would be able to bring out the best in Adam Chicksen. I hope he finds a good club where he can restart his career.
  20. Rest in Peace Sheik, you were one of a kind.
